Niche audience question..If you wear Next Petite Boyfriend jeans, what other jeans suit you?

I am size 6-8 hourglass shape 5ft nothing looking for some not-skinny jeans - darkish indigo wash, straight or boyfriendy shape, don't bag at the waist, suitable for SAH with kids days. The Next ones have been great but this season's ones look a bit lower quality denim than previous incarnations somehow and I tend to go through the knees pretty quickly in them anyway. I would happily spend £some and would go premium if anyone can recommend a good style to try...

I'm pretty much your exact size and shape and although I haven't tried the next jeans, I live in my levis.

I haven't bought any new since they've brought in the new style of sizing (curve / Demi curve etc) so can't advise on that but they have always been one of the only brands of jeans that fit me well.

Really hard wearing decent denim too. Not sure about exactly what styles they do at the moment but I'd be amazed if there isn't a boyfriend one.

Just while I've got a body-double here, quick question:

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that skinny jeans just don't suit me - something about the waist, hip ratio seems to make my bum / thighs look enormous when they really aren't.

What styles have you found that work?

Houseofmaidens · 06/07/2014 21:44

I have had to come to terms with the painful fact that there are no trousers in the world that will make me look coltish and lithe. I tend to carry my weight on my thighs so even though I am "slim" by dress size standards, I have to be quite careful about the proportions. Keeping it neat is the key I think.
I have quite chunky legs and prefer not to show them off or otherwise, proportion wise, I think shorties can look great in neat dresses. I also hate wearing heels and refuse to do so unless I am at work... Boyfriend jeans, often rolled at the ankle, straight legged trousers with wedges hidden under them at work, and that's about it. I do wear skinnies but I try to pair them with something quite dramatic and forgiving up top and add a bit of chunk in the shoe to balance.
What do you do?

Ooh 5ft nothing & a 6-8 here too!
I wear next petite boyfriend jeans and I also like their relaxed skinnies.
I like Topshop petite baxter jeans and also the leigh jeans in the darker washes.
For a looser fit, Gap petite online, real straight jeans.

Littlepinkpear · 08/07/2014 20:56

I'm a 10 but same height and hourglass.

Gap Sexy Boyfriend and Gap 1969 real straight in petite sizes are my two current favs. Lots of colours but I like the darker indigo.

Also petite relaxed skinny from next in grey are very nice.
