Can I paint over my gel nails.

I had gel nails put in for the first time today. My nails are shortand bitten and I thought it might give them chance to grow.

I chose a neutral colour as didn't want to draw attention to my nails. They look horrible though. Sort of pale insipid brown with tinge of orange. Can I use normal nail varnish to cover them?

The woman who does my gels said yes, but when you remove use an acetone free remover so you don't take off the gels.

Great thanks will give it a go. I was a bit disappointed in the colours available to be honest.

Oh that's a shame. Go to a new person next time if your one doesn't have good colours!

I found a lot of nail places had the posters showing hundreds of colours, but actually only stocked a few. That annoyed me.

They probably had about 15 but that included black and grey and this was the only neutral colour. I can't really get away with bright colours at work either unfortunately.
