if you do smokey eyes, what do you do on lip (as you get older)?

the strong smokey eye has always been my thing. have tried others over the years (flicky cat liner/strong lip) but i know what works at this stage of the game. in my 20's - mid 30's, i would do pale vaguely pink/nude gloss or just lipbalm but this doesnt seem to look/feel right as i approach 40...dunno why, i just feel i need something a bit more grown up.
any tecnique/product recommendations?

oh, i should add i have dark brown hair, blue eyes & pale skin with pink cheeks & freckles. ta!

Have a look at Lisa elridge make up tutorials. Lisaelridge.com She does a whole one on smokey eye looks.
I don't use a smokey eye look anymore, as I need too much concealer in order not to look like I've two black eyes!

I use nude lipliner, slick of lip balm, then a little bit of concealer. Sounds odd but it gives me nude lips which aren't too shiny.
