My friend is going this week and has asked for advice. what should she wear? Not tall, apple shape, not thin, conservative dresser

Oops, posted too soon:

What should she wear? I am at bit of a loss, I love clothes but a more quirky style and different shape.

Anything she wants, something comfortable. If she is in debenture seats they are stricter but if it is normal seating anything is fine. if she is on any court other than center take a brolly / rain mac as well as a sun hat!

tell her to keep in mind that some of the play can go on until evening so take a jacket/ cardigan as it might be warm during the day but probably chilly getting home

Should've explained, she is feeling frumpy, and has asked as she wants to glam up a bit.

I would suggest something like a jersey dress, you can be sitting in one spot for a long time, she doesn't want stuff that will crumple up. I go a lot (I work in tennis) usually have a plain jersey dress and comfortable sparkly sandals, dress it up a bit with some nice jewellery and a glam sun hat.

Trousers and a dress?

Trumpton · 02/07/2014 02:40

Yup. My legs are scarred and the style suits me. The dress is lovely ,the fabric is slightly crinkly and very soft. < happy in my choice>> Smile

Here's a post I did on what to wear to Wimbledon, in case it helps theworkwearedit.com/what-to-wear-to-summer-corporate-events-part-2-wimbledon-outfit-ideas/

That does help ,thank you. I am happy and comfortable and feel that my outfit is suitable.

I think there's a big difference between what you'd want to wear if asked to a corporate hospitality event (which presumably the lunch in the local hotel is part of) and if just going for your own enjoyment.

if the latter, anything goes really (in most seats), but if you want to dress up a bit fine - subject to all the sensible suggestions above on jersey dresses, umbrellas, etc, etc.
