Can't find a dress for christening and a wedding!

I've been to all the high street stores but no luck. I'm size 10/12 & 5ft 6. Fair skin and blondish hair. Budget under 50 ideally.

Is a posh christening in july and wedding in sept. Would consider skirt and top.

so what kind of dress are you looking for-what style would you like? colour?

Thurlow · 01/07/2014 12:41

What sort of thing do you have in mind? Ignoring cost, can you link to a few things you like?

I've got this:
50's dress
Which is comfortable and looks lovely on. Not too expensive either.
Wear it with high heeled (10cm) white patent Mary Jane shoes and love it!!

I've got a few things recently from Closet which I've liked a lot. So maybe something like:

Blue wave dress

Curve waistband

I like blues, fushias etc... Maybe with a small sleeve and just below the knee. Everything I tried on looked horrible. I feel less confident since having a baby.

what do you think of the ones we have linked to?

milkyman · 01/07/2014 14:02

They are lovely but not sure they would sit me

How about a wrap dress? They are usually very flattering and can be worn with appropriate accessories for the occasion. For wedding/christening I suggest a blue/lavendar colour, perhaps with white spots? Unless you need it more formal, then perhaps a light flower pattern is better.

I have a wedding to attend next year, and I am secretly planning to find a dress in the local charity shop ;) Dresses for weddings/christenings rarely get worn more than once.

Spanx are your friend Smile I don't like my figure as much since having DD but Spanx do make me feel a bit better and help dresses to fit more comfortably.

always worth looking at TKMaxx's website

Have you considered that you may need to try different things as your body may have changed since having a baby?
You may find different things suit you now? Smile
