DBil's wedding this weekend. I'm wearing green and gold.

What colour nail varnish should I wear? I'm struggling. Thanks!

bronze?

WowOoo · 30/06/2014 14:20

A neutral or mink-brown shade?

Trazzletoes · 30/06/2014 14:20

Sorry! Meant to say that my skin has an odd red tinge to it (otherwise v pale) and bronze/ gold nail varnish just looks weird on me.

To be honest, gold prob not the best colour for me to wear but it was literally the only dress in the world that fits me!

Gold? Or neutral?
I'm actually sporting green & gold nails today!

Mrsgrumble · 30/06/2014 14:20

French manicure? Would be lovely. Or a nude

7Days · 30/06/2014 14:22

maybe something that complements the green then. If it's a small flash of bright zingy green, maybe a small flash of bright zingy watermelon or something like that would be nice.

You might be able to find a tone of gold that suits your skin tone.

Depending on the tone of the green:

I'd suggest something like Chanel Starlet - ommorphia.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/chanel-starlet-swatch.jpg

OPI Live or let die - www.vampyvarnish.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/OPI-Live-And-Let-Die.jpg

Or Chanel Malice - the-swatchaholic.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/chanel-637-malice-swatch_01.jpg

A classic red, a classic pale pink (like Chanel Ballerina), or a grey (like Dior Gris Trianon) could also be nice.

Trazzletoes · 30/06/2014 16:07

Oh wow I love those 2 Chanel colours! The dress is the kind of green of mint choc chip!

How about Essie - Mint Candy Apple: 4.bp.blogspot.com/_3QwOQ9KkdW8/SwrRadp6YVI/AAAAAAAAFps/qJJtBjIWiBI/s1600/mintcandyapple.jpg

As it is a lighter green, you could also go for something like this:
oflifeandlacquer.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/110.jpg
it's Dior - Rosy Bow

There are loads of cheaper alternatives to those colours, so you wouldn't have to go for Dior/Chanel/Essie/OPI.

MissScatterbrain · 30/06/2014 17:14

what colour lipstick are you wearing? Maybe similar colour to go with your lipstick? Otherwise nude is a probably a good choice..if a bit boring.

Trazzletoes · 30/06/2014 17:31

Oh good God - haven't got as far as lipstick/ eye make up yet! I have a VERY limited selection of make up.

Nude doesn't tend to look terribly good on me.

Quite happy to spend a bit on make up though.

Right I think I've just uploaded a picture of me on my profile so you can see what I mean about skintone :( if you want to!

Pretty lady :)

Red is your best bet - you will look ill with green/bronze nails if you don't look right in these colours.

MissScatterbrain · 30/06/2014 17:41

Rimmel's Double Decker red is a good one.

u32ng · 30/06/2014 21:27

17 risky red is a good red too. It's a red red but has a slightly darker, kind of vintage tone to it.

Carpaccio · 30/06/2014 22:43

How about Essie Haute As Hello, Essie Cute as a Button or Essie Tart Deco?

You could pair that with a nice coral lipstick and blusher, eyeliner and neutral eyeshadow with a bit of shimmer?

Coral, gold and minty green is a cool combination, especially for summer :)

Trazzletoes · 30/06/2014 23:21

Thank you all for your help. It's hugely appreciated. I'm going to look beautiful Smile

Essie A list. A nice red

MissScatterbrain · 01/07/2014 09:11

I wouldn't get coral lipstick or bronzer with your colouring though.

If you do wear a red lipstick, keep your eye make up low key.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/07/2014 09:31

Your colouring looks a lot like mine. I don't suit gold or anything with yellow/orange tones. Coral looks dreadful on me, a pity because it's lovely.

If you aren't used to deep colours and don't paint your nails regularly it might be tricky to get a really good finish with a dark colour. I would go for a natural but groomed loo, Essie Sugar Daddy is my favourite, a very sheer pink. Also no worries about chipping it on the day.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/07/2014 09:31

look not loo!
