I've just bought some jeans that disguise the dreaded muffin top!

If anyone else is having this problem... I got them from Marks and Spencers, I know I AM ROCK AND ROLL.
They were in Per Una and have a nice high waist which gives you the effect of having just pulled your jeans up to cover the dreaded top du muffin but without the stylish hitching action. Hope this helps someone! I'll see if I can work out how to do a link but don't hold your breath....

i am VERY short wasited so thsoe wodul also encompass my boobs

danceswithmonkeys · 08/09/2006 18:02

Are you sure it's not just that your boobs (now failing the pencil test) reach your waist...ahem!

noonar · 08/09/2006 18:04

they look a bit 'simon cowell' to me

noonar · 08/09/2006 18:05

ps they also look very comfy...

nutcracker · 08/09/2006 18:07

I brought some Tops Shop ones yesterday and I love them even if they have turned my legs blue.

Twiglett · 08/09/2006 18:07

am I the only one who remembers when the only jeans you could get reached your waist?

and then they brought in hipsters and said it made your bum look smaller (bollocks IMO) and you couldn't get waisted trousers for love nor money

and now all the young things think they're a new invention

danceswithmonkeys · 08/09/2006 18:07

I take your point noonar but that is avoided if you don't wear stuff tucked in which, because of the aforementioned top du muffin problem, I never do!

I bought some slightly higher waisted jeans a while back - more what I'd class as normal as opposed to high-waisted - and my friends thought that they made me look much slimmer - so much so that I bought a second pair

iota · 08/09/2006 18:09

xposted with Twig - yes they're normal not 'high-waisted'

danceswithmonkeys · 08/09/2006 18:09

'and I remember when polos cost 8p...' etc - twiglett starts to reminisce about the good old days and then slips into a little nap where her top teeth drop down and drool gently slides out of one corner of her mouth...

OP posts:
geekgrrl · 08/09/2006 18:12

boohoo - they're not available in long.

danceswithmonkeys · 08/09/2006 18:22

They might not be those exact ones, I'm sure mine are bootleg. Just go into Marks and look for ones with that dodgy belt!

it all used to be green fields round here I'll have you know

youth today .. no respect

mrsdarcy · 09/09/2006 12:39

Thanks danceswithmonkeys . I have similar requirements and am going on a jeans quest week after next.

mrsdarcy · 09/09/2006 19:27

I tried on the M&S ones and my thighs were v scary. I hate trying on jeans.

CarolinaMoon · 19/09/2006 14:09

iota, can I revive this thread to ask where you got yours?

peegeeweegeewoo · 19/09/2006 16:28

errr, isn't that just going back to normal jeans/trousers now that the ridiculous hipster/"wear trousers that look like they are fallin off" craze is dying down...???

the worst thing is that when you crouch down (to tie dc'd shoelaces for the umpteenth time) the whole world can see your knickers and bum cleavage...)

perhaps - well no, definately, I am not a dedicated follower of fashion, have always worn trousers that go up to my belly button...

anyway, I have much more than a muffin top to hide, more like a whole bakery.... [blush again]

peegeeweegeewoo · 19/09/2006 16:28

fallin = falling
dc'd = dc's

iota · 19/09/2006 16:32

Carolina, I bought my jeans in M&S - I don't think that they are still stocking them though - plenty of new styles to chose from theough
