Misformum, please please tell me you are joking about that brown eBay monstrosity???

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 29/06/2014 18:53

Not sure what you mean by 'funky' op - do you like the '50s styles linked to?
Anyway, Asos have a huge range in plus sizes, and you'd have enough money to buy shoes appropriate for whatever dress you buy, rather than struggling to do it the other way round, iyswim.
I don't say that to be rude - it's just that it's easier to find a dress you love and feel comfortable wearing than it is to find one just because it looks okay with particular footwear.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 29/06/2014 18:55

Oh the link's gone weird but you can refine it to dresses in your size.

MisForMumNotMaid · 29/06/2014 18:56

Nope. Tastes differ. I thought, being not small myself, that the waves of light fabric would be quite comfortable to wear and the bolero broad stripes tied in with the shoes that the OP has to wear.

olaflikeswarmhugs · 29/06/2014 18:57

Letthemtalk I was just about to post the exact same thing !! Shock

this asos one would be very flattering

MsMarple · 29/06/2014 18:59

www.mandco.com have some nice things in your price range - they do a plus range but their normal dresses all seem to be available in 18/20/22. They seem to be mostly sleeveless so you might want to add a bolero thing.

Letthemtalk · 29/06/2014 18:59

Or she'd look like a tree.... (As a size 18 myself not a look I'd go for...), that and op is 28 not 58.

schmee · 29/06/2014 19:07

I love this but I'm not sure it would work with those shoes.

Mary Portas has quite a few things in the House of Fraser sale which might work this is in your price range.

MmeMorrible · 29/06/2014 19:13

Lots of lovely dresses on this site but mostly out of the price range.

This could work www.navabi.co.uk/dresses-zay-block-colour-dress-pink-coral-orange-20156-9051.html

FauxFox · 29/06/2014 19:27

Those shoes are vile, though. Sorry.

olaflikeswarmhugs · 29/06/2014 20:12

I love love love that green kimono one tether !

I know most people don't like them I'm used to getting a slagging for them Grin I like them though and I don't mind I know I can have odd taste sometimes ! Grin

tethersend · 29/06/2014 20:27

Pah, if you like 'em, wear 'em... Most of the stuff I wear would make the S&B board wince Grin

burnishedsilver · 29/06/2014 20:41

If you ditch the shoes you'll have much more options. It's impossible to style a wedding outfit around them.

olaflikeswarmhugs · 29/06/2014 21:13

Im really into those 50s dresses but I feel like I'd like to try them on . I wonder if there's anywhere in Glasgow that stocks them .

Ok I've looked a bit at 50s style dresses and I've found two I like

Audrey Hepburn
Lucille

The Audrey Hepburn one comes in loads of different colours (although they all have a higher neck)

What do you think ? :)
