Can you have a decent short hairstyle if you have curly hair?

I'm so bored of my hair. It's a dark blonde colour, very curly ringlets underneath but top layer is only wavy. It's quite fine and prone to fizz although products do tame it quite well.

The best style for my hair is just above my shoulders with loads of layers. I'm just so boooooored of it. I would love to do something a bit different with it, but it needs to be extremely low maintenance and suit my hair type plus an oval/long face shape.

Does this hairstyle exist? I'm 27 if that helps.

Please help!

Watching with interest. I have dark blonde thick curly hair and am also bored of my style which varies from shoulder length to bob length but always looks the same.
I am not interested in straightening though!

Switch on the glastonbury coverage now - Aliosn Goldfrapp has fantastic short curly hair

How short? Saw The Hotel Inspector last night and loved Alex Polizi's short hairstyle and she had very wavy/curly hair when grown out. I think she has a long face shape as well. You'd have to be very committed to go that short though!

Eek, I'm not 100% sure yet! I just want a change, long hair looks awful on me so the only way to go is shorter....!

I had really short hair once but it was a style that required straightening every day - never again! Was a right pain in the arse.

Am I brave enough?!

My SIL has very curly hair and she had it very short and not straightened at one stage. I thought it looked fantastic. I think it was about an inch all over(?) and that meant it made some lovely curls but was short enough not to make ringlets. She's grown it out now, but I don't know whether that was because it didn't work for her or she just wanted another change.

I say go for it! I had my (wavy but not as wavy as yours) hair cut really short about 4 years ago and I've never regretted it - it's so easy to look after and I get loads of compliments on it. I don't need to do anything except wash it - no blow-drying, no gunk, no straightening or anything.

Was going to say alison goldfrapp but someone beat me to it.
I have similar hair but auburn.

I think be careful of going too short especially with a long face.... I think v short curly hair can be a pain to style.... Mine anyway needs a bit of length to weigh it down and stop it from sticking up vertically!
