Sun safe swimwear for DD 8 yrs

I'm looking for some swimwear for my DD who is 8 for upcoming summer holiday, which is likely to be very sunny/hot. I know about keeping out of the sun at midday etc, but I'd like her to have some sun safe swimwear to be on the safe side, particularly if we visit a water park or similar.

I've had a look round but not found anything particularly inspiring for this age range. I'm thinking of a rash top and matching bottoms, possibly with a matching tankini top for the less blistering parts of the day.

I like the Hatley rash tops (eg Hatley), and am inclined towards buying this, but there are no matching bottoms that I can find (only a matching one-piece). I may just buy her this top anyway.

But has anyone seen anything that fits the bill?

She tends to like bright, bold colours.

I may need something for an almost 5 year old too. But there seems to be more choice of sun suits for that age.

John Lewis?
We bought for our DD from there.

I've just bought my dd a 3 piece swim set from next. It has a bikini top and swim shorts then a swim jacket that is long sleeved which has a zip, I didn't like the over head ones. I also bought the matching hat that also covers her neck x

Boden and Landsend.Boden have sold out of almost all their SPF tops for this year.I bought 2 suits at the begining of the season but got another from Landsend last week, striped violet tankini and matching rash vest. Can't do links on my phone but the colours are so much nicer and bright IRL than they appear on the website.

I've used LionInTheSun, Boden and LittleRedFish - all online but I don't know how to link sorry,

DD and DS both have rash vest and shorts. They last really well.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 27/06/2014 23:58

Both DDs and me have had years of use out of Lion in
The Sun tops and UV jackets (the latter are great for watching small DCs as you can undo them, but keep your shoulders covered.

They look more sensible over a bikini than a rash vest, in the med.

Although I confess I do wear a rash vest in the sea as I burn long before my DDs.

Decathlon have plain ones in bright colours for about £5.

Thanks for all the fantastic suggestions - there's more choice than I expected! May also have to get one for myself.
