Have bought this dress for an evening wedding reception in the navy and nude. It looks really great on but have no idea what shoes and accessories to put with it. Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure why the navy dress is not shown in the picture. It basically has a nude colour layer underneath and a navy lace over the top.

Not sure if these would be overkill on the lace, but I'd go for navy slingbacks or peeptoes.

I'd keep jewellery fairly minimal, maybe a bangle and earrings, probably gold colour.

Or there's these nude slingbacks www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/shoes-203538/heels-203589/nude-slingback-mid-court-shoes-2940224?bi=101&ps=20&cmpid=ppc_pla_UK_found&utm_medium=cpc&geoip=noredirect&istCompanyId=e0b51aa7-96c9-4550-a6f3-56b61a0b5995&istItemId=wxiqrarwm&istBid=tztx&gclid=CM3v49Xilb8CFQfJtAodSBoA8g

Just seen the dress in navy. Think nude shoes would work well.

mrwhitesfly · 25/06/2014 20:47

Thanks I like the nude shoes a lot.

It depends really if you want to go subtle and coordinating or if you want to go for bold accessories.

Do you want maximum use out of new shoes, bag etc. or are you happy to choose something to go just with this outfit?
Are there any shoe restrictions for heel or comfort?

Personally I'd go for a high heeled court shoe in an orange or red shade and a clutch bag to match. I'd also go easy on any jewellery as I don't think the dress needs it, it's lovely on its own.

ASOS Orange Heels £25

Highbury Sandal in Apricot £42

Nice looking Aldo clutch bag Here £35.

Neutral Aldo high heel in the sale £28 - not leather though

If I'm completely wrong with the choices though can think again given some clues.

I quite like the idea of bright shoes and bag but not orange. Im a HoC winter jewel so tend to go for pinks, purples, bright blues etc as well as the darker shades of navy, grey, green, burgundy in the winter. Would any of these colours work?

Heel wise as long as they're not ridiculously high I'm flexible.

I think for that criteria a bright pink or a green might work, but subject to personal taste. Personally I think I'd rather stick with navy or nude.

This looks a nice shoe for a wedding Ankle Strap nudey pink down to just £20.

Or Bright Pink half price £16 If you suit an ankle strap that is?
ASOS also have a Harlequin heel which is nude trimmed with black(?) and a coral band, but I haven't posted that as it isn't on your colour palette really.
