What mascara is best for volumising/lengthening?

I know this topic has probably been done to death but I need a new mascara and can't decide which to get. I'm currently using Mac Zoom Lash in black which is pretty good but I'm always open to trying something new if it's good!

Lancôme Hypnose.
Every now and again I think I'll try a different one...but always come as it is just consistently the best.
Going to buy some at the airport myself

MyMeMy · 24/06/2014 17:22

Ooo - sorry to jump in, but I'm always on the look out for a better mascara, currently using Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion - ok but by no means perfect!

Framboisier, I just had a look at the Lancôme site and there are several variants of the Hypnose - could you tell me which you recommend please?

I love soap and glory mascara, as good as any of the more expensive ones, loads of volume and length with no clogging. Also I get really sensitive eyes sometimes and they don't run with this one.

I asked a girl at work with amazing lashes what she used and it was this L'Oreal one
I love it. Really makes my lashes look longer and thicker without looking caked.

Cocolepew · 24/06/2014 17:33

I use this L'Oreal one

ASmidgeofMidge · 24/06/2014 17:34

Another vote for Lancôme Hypnose. I use the Hypnose Drama

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 24/06/2014 19:19

The Benefit 'yes they're real' or whatever it's called is crap.

Framboisier · 24/06/2014 20:01

MyMeMy - I just use the 'original' one...don't feel like I need the waterproof one as it is quite flake and smudge resistant anyway.
And I find you can build up the layers if you want thicker looking lashes.

Although I haven't actually tried the others, so tbf, I don't know what difference there is!

Kewcumber · 24/06/2014 20:01

I've just bought the Benefot mascara! Love it!

Mind you I have pretty good lashes to start with

sherazade · 24/06/2014 20:05

Clinique High Impact Mascara

MarianForrester · 24/06/2014 20:11

MyMeMy · 24/06/2014 21:55

Thanks Framboisier Thanks - will give it a try!

mrsminiverscharlady · 25/06/2014 07:29

So many options! Pity you can't get free samples...

I really like tubing mascaras. I have used the L'oreal one which is great. It's the one in red and white packaging named something like beauty tubes. It's great for everyday looks but can also be built up to look like fake lashes. I didn't like the white primer though - it just made my lashes look grey...
I'm currently using Estee Lauder double wear zero-smudge lengthening mascara which is also very good. It's a bit more natural.

SorrelForbes · 25/06/2014 09:01

Max Factor Maximise and Givenchy Phenomen'eyse

pinkyredrose · 25/06/2014 09:43

I've just started using Benefits They're Real mascara and it's amazing. Friends have commented how long my lashes look.

shoppingfrenzy · 25/06/2014 09:44

Benefit "Bad gal" lashes is great.

Nectarines · 25/06/2014 09:45

I also love benefit 'they're real'.

What a difference it makes!

Cocolepew · 25/06/2014 10:00

The best thing to do is use 2 different mascaras, a volumising one and a lengthening one, rather than 2 coats of the same mascara.

tertle · 25/06/2014 10:02

YSL effet faux cils. Although I might try a benefit one next time!

Cocolepew · 25/06/2014 10:15

Keep a look out at magazines over the summer mrsminiver, I usually stock up on free mascara then. I got Benefits They're Real last summer on a magazine that was only a couple of pounds

valrhona · 25/06/2014 10:21

for cash and I tried the Benefit 'They're Real' as well as it was not v expensive and I was broke. I have fairly good eyelashes and found it coated well and all that, but it gave me panda eyes by the day's end. So ended up going back for the 4th time to the more expensive but highly effective MAC Haute but Naughty (pink lid rather than purple). I like that it's sort of two brushes in one, so you can have a lighter look for day, or really vamp it up for night. I didn't know that if you bring back 3 empty MAC wands, you are given the next one free. Wish I'd known that before dumping the others! I wonder does it apply across their range or is it just mascara?

valrhona · 25/06/2014 10:22

Was a bit strapped for..... (se above)

FayeKorgasm · 25/06/2014 17:43

YSL Babydoll is very good and lasts all day!

Inbl00m · 25/06/2014 18:27

Dior Show blackout is amazing... worth every penny!
