not one with a crazy bulbous neck with buttons, not one that goes half way to my waist, not skinny minny just a good old fashioned standby black jumper to hide under in winter, please. any suggestions?

have you tried H&M, they usually have some good basic wardrobe essentials?

botheration, this was what I meant. Still doesn't come in black though.

MuffinTumMum · 07/09/2006 13:25

Might be worth keeping an eye out in places like tesco who are just bringing in their cashmere stuff. They did a really lovely plain one last year for about 35 quid!

pesme · 07/09/2006 14:13

thanks for the replies. the landsend one is perfect maybe i could compromise with navy?

Zara have some silk/cashmere plain rollnecks in grey/beige/black/brown at around £40. Gap have black polo jumpers in merino wool as well - not sure on price but not expensive.

expatinscotland · 07/09/2006 16:51

thanks again for all the suggestions. and no i am not expat!

did try m&s at the weekend but everything just seemed abit thin and cheap and i was alarmed to find myself hovering about the knitwear with all the old dears.
