Amanda Wakeley

For my cousin's wedding (in September, but likely hot weather abroad)
I am 48, 5'6'', size 14, big boobs (34G)

Is the colour a bit… minty?

Any other ideas? Needs to accommodate bra straps, be non-polyester and less than £200.

TIA Smile

I like it.

Mitchell2 · 20/06/2014 22:30

I like it and the color but it depends on your coloring... I'd wear it I have Olive/tanned skin, dark hair and dark eyes.

PacificDogwood · 20/06/2014 22:33

I am brunette with blue eyes and fair skin, but do tan (we will have been on holiday before the wedding).

I could do black accessories (as in the photo) or ?silver.

Hm. Not sure. The quality appeals to me and the cut would work, I think.

It's pretty.

nilbyname · 20/06/2014 22:36

Ver nice. Silver and maybe tan accessories?

Silver cuff, tan strappy heels. Do you need a hat?

Thurlow · 20/06/2014 22:38

That's a lovely dress. I'd wear gold accessories with it, especially if you have a tab. But that's a great dress.

Hell, no hat, no!
The wedding is not in the UK and a hat is Not The Done Thing, thank goodness!

Ok, so this may be a contender. Hm. I like that it's matt too and hopefully wouldn't show lumps and bumps too much.

Gold, eh?
That would require shoe shopping….. Wink

Love it Smile

BigPawsBrown · 20/06/2014 22:48

I don't think that would be a flattering length, sorry Sad

PacificDogwood · 20/06/2014 22:58

You think, BigPaws? Confused
I don't have particularly good legs and need it to be below the knee.

Silver or gold would work. Black would be too harsh.

LaurieFairyCake · 20/06/2014 23:01

I also like it. It's going to be reasonable quality at that discount.

You could buy something from a chain store for £120 and it could be polyester.

Red lipstick a definite in that. Va va voom.

williaminajetfighter · 20/06/2014 23:03

Really like it and gorgeous colour. But ordering from Brand Alley? Let's hope the dress arrives before the wedding! Grin

Ourma · 20/06/2014 23:07

Lovely dress. Nude or pink shoes with gold accessories.

PacificDogwood · 20/06/2014 23:08

I've had nothing but good experiences with BrandAlley, but I hear'ya, williamina, I do - PayPal is my friend.

I think I'll give it a go and see what it's like in RL.

Thank you, all Thanks

I was joking about Brand Alley. Good service but sometimes the delivery times can be painful and protracted (eg 3wks to a month when you want your stuff now!)

TheMasterNotMargarita · 20/06/2014 23:25

Lovely!
Have one quite similar Smile.
Agree with gold sandals and accessories.
