Style challenge - please help me make a metallic gold leather skirt look classy

I'm going through my loft (about to move house) and found this slightly a-line knee length leather skirt I never wore. It is metallic but a muted frosty gold with a diagonal exposed zip and one flap pocket. I threw it in the eBay pile thinking those days are gone (I am 41 eek)

Then tried it on just now and it's actually ok! Sort of stylish and I think with the right thing I could tone it all down and look classy?!

Any ideas? I'm tall and size 10. Small busted. White crew neck t- shirt? What shoes? Hair? I have a meal with girlfriends coming up. Or am I being ridiculous?

In these situations pinterest in your friend...it sounds like a fantastic skirt. Definitely give it a try. Hold onto those days!!!

with white shirt, oatmeal jumper and pink shoes
with nude/cream colours

with a denim shirt and tan/gold accessories

libertychick has some great suggestions. Definitely something non-shiny and neutral. My first thought was a fitted white button-up shirt or t-shirt, gold necklace or earrings, nude/tan leather wedges.
