What tops to go with orange summer trousers??

Hi

I've just bought these

Orange Intown Trousers

as they're a much nicer fit than any jeans right now (I gave birth three weeks ago) and I like them (they look much nicer on than in the website picture) but I don't know what to wear them with! I don't really wear a lot of orange and don't really know what colours to put with it? I was so pleased to be getting out of the black falling-down maternity trousers I've been wearing I didn't think about this!

Don't want to be head to toe orange, obviously (there was a matching top but too much orange! And I don't like matching clothes like that)

and I'm breastfeeding so mostly wearing vests and loose tops/cardis. Not looking for any smart things as such, just easy everyday bits.

Am I right in thinking semi fitted vests will look ok with them? If so, which colours should I look out for when I go shopping?

All help gratefully received!

I'd go for navy & ecru breton stripe top which you can get pretty much anywhere (Gap, Boden...)

I'd keep your top half fairly fitted - black, navy, cream, white, khaki all go with orange. Hot pink if you're feeling brave!

H and M fab for cheap cotton vests perfect for breastfeeding.

Tealy, peacocky or kingfisher blues, greens, creams and golden tones. A bright red would look lovely with that colour. You wouldn't need to spend a fortune either. Primark sell strappy vests in a myriad of colours -about £2.50 each and some of mine have lasted years. There are also lots of plain but bright coloured cotton cardigans about (New Look £11.99 and H&M £9.99). An easy colourful combo and should be easy to feed you wee one too.

Black is not a good look with orange in my opinion, nor navy. Would suggest cream, peaches and shell pinks, olives/khakis.

I think navy and Orange look amazing together, look at Pinterest, loads of navy blazer/Orange trouser combos. Looks very modern

A dark top will not look right with those bottoms.

I'd go for a cream top.

I'd go for something fairly fitted due to the shape of the trousers and innavy, white or pink. Cream will look dull since they're actually quite a muted orange, similarly you'll have to find the right pink.

White or navy.
