Nair upper lip cream burnt my skin! Does anyone knows of an alternative?

Hello all, just what the title says really. I am lucky I do not really 'need' to remove all my hair as it is not very dark, but I would like that area to be smooth/without noticeable hair.

I use Veet facial wax strips.Just heat them up with the hairdryer and rip off quickly in an upward motion.Hurts the first time but you get used to it.They give a lovely smooth finish.
