Fushi rosehip oil - I want to like it, I really do...but oh the smell!

Is it just me? Hardly any reviews of the Fushi organic rosehip oil mention how awful it smells. I'm wondering if I have some unique smell receptor that nobody else possesses. To me it has a note of engine oil about it. I've tried putting lovely essential oils like rose and frankincense to cover it up, but no luck.

Does anyone else think it smells bad? Is it weird or am I?!

I have the PAI rosehip oil & find the smell really unpleasant. This is gorgeous though www.melmillis.co.uk/36010/organic-phytonutri-rose-pomegranate-rebalancing-face-oil-50ml-information. I've used it for the last month and my skin looks great.

Sorry, wrong product. This is the one I've been using www.melmillis.co.uk/33009/organic-phytonutri-rosehip-pomegranate-repair-serum-tm-30ml-information

I bought some rosehip oil and it was utterly vile. Everyone on here assured me that it shouldn't smell that bad (although it's not supposed to smell perfumey either) and it had probably gone off.

Bought some more (the Trilogy version) and it was a million times better. So perhaps you have a dodgy bottle?

I've got the rosehip oil from Naissance via Amazon and it doesn't smell at all!

Ruralninja · 16/06/2014 13:55

that's what I'm wondering - is it a dodgy bottle or have I got some unique smell receptor....like some people have the ability to taste things that other's can't?! I've messed about with it now by adding essential oils so could hardly return it. Also, the colour seems really bright orange and makes me look like an oompaloompa.... might try another one then, I'll look at the link, ta

I use the Fushi rosehip oil and yes it smells weird....my 2 dds always know when I have used it and hold their noses! but it is fab fab fab for my skin.......makes me look younger!

Im glad someone else has said this, I thought it was just me, mine smells really bad too, I do wonder now if it is off? Its the fushi one from amazon, not exactly cheap as i usually use so if its off i want to send it back but how exactly do i tell?

Im also slowly turning into an oompa loompa too, I dont see any of my fine lines dissapearing as claimed in most of the reviews but somehow i do look slightly younger? not sure if its cos i look like I have a constant tan now though? dont think id buy another bottle after this one.

I don't mind the smell of mine but it is distinctive. What this is BRILLIANT for is the back of your hands. I use the oil on my forehead and sun damaged chest, then rub my hands together. In the last month my hands have got about 10 years younger!
