Ok, always been a tomboy, jeans and t shirt kind of girl. Don't wear make up. Never wear skirts or dresses. Don't own heals.

3 family christenings within next 3 months including my own daughter's. My best friend just text asking if I had an outfit yet. When I said not really she replied "you are not allowed to wear black trousers and a white shirt" oops. That was my fall back 'smart' outfit for all occasions.

Im 5ft4 about a size 12-14 (still losing the baby weight). What on earth am I suppose to wear that doesn't make me stand out like a sore thumb as being completely different to the normal me?

Help!

Well, change the color of your outfit. Blue or earth colors would be safe, and wear the trousers in slightly different fashion, like these :

I think you should try a dress, or at least a skirt. Go for it! It's sad not to try something you wouldn't normally wear once in a while!

You don't have to get one in pink with lots of frills on it!! It's hard to make concrete suggestions without knowing what your figure is like, but..

  1. How about something like this, which is nice but not too dressy, and you can wear with black or red ballet flats

  1. Or this, which is also very plain and easy to wear, but pretty:

  1. Or this if you have big boobs - the V neck would be flattering, and it's flared on the hips www.johnlewis.com/almari-v-neckline-dress-lime/p665158

For make up you could just put on some mascara and a tinted lip balm if you wanted. For hair, it really depends on how long it is, etc. Something like a neat high ponytail might be simple enough for you to master, but looks very pretty. If you hair is short, then just brush it and maybe get it blowdried?
