DD2 is 13 months and still breastfeeding her - but aiming to go back to work full time by the autumn. I turn 44 next month so in need of a boost. No money so am making a list to boost myself.

  1. hair. Messed around with it (should have left it long and grown out highlights) so now growing out my fringe - rest of hair is now a lob - aiming for one length past shoulders and growing out all the colour (an ombré/bleach/dye you name it) and conditioning with coconut oil and no hairdryer or heated appliance.
  2. fitness. More yoga and less spinning - with weight training and one 10k run a week with local ladies who run club. Figure that my regime has been a bit ageing
  3. skin. When no tired am always being told I look 29/30 but I do have those frown lines now - maybe Botox? Serums are not working nor is the la Roche posay redermic. Thinking Dermalogica age smart (I use the staple regime from D at the moment)
  4. clothes. Total detox - no more buying of clothes until I figure out what my style is...

Hi my ds2 is 15 months and still breastfeeding. I'm also on operation get myself back! I'm coming up to 27 but have felt so...Bluergh lately. Thought breastfeeding would whip me back into shape but oh no! (I'll match your points)

  1. hair. I bleached my hair white last year before dying it pastel lilac (probably quarter life crisis Grin) then I dyed it brown (November) when I couldn't be bothered with the upkeep. The brown has washed out and now it's dishwater blonde with 3/4 inches of roots. But its kind of ombré-ish. (Also stuck a semi reddy brown on the other night but this has nearly washed out) will be booking hairdressers soon and going back bright blonde all over with lots of different tones. Also been using coconut oil and 'babying' it. Philip Kingsley elastisizer is brill btw!

  2. fitness. Have joined the gym and been going once or twice a week but need to up this. Gym buddy broke her ankle at the gym last week so need to recruit new buddy Grin

  3. skin. After realising what a tramp I am for sleeping in my make up everynight I have bought superdrugs radiance hot cloth cleanser and radiance balm. Apart from the massive spot on my cheek it seems to be helping my skin!

  4. clothes. I've been out today and spent skit loads on some summer gear, have got it home and realised it's mostly black! My style is quite hipy boho-y. Have also bought some of those ghastly clear jelly shoes purely because I missed out on them the first time round!

Phew! Sorry for going on so much!
Have you tried looking on Pinterest for the kind of styles you like? Then you could start pulling a capsule wardrobe together.
Do you get your eyebrows threaded/tinted? I got mine done last week and the differerence is unbelievable!! I can show a before and after pic if you want?
How about a bit of fake tan? Even a gradual one?

(What a massive post! Sorry about typos etc, my screen is smashed on my phone so hard to see much)

Can I suggest when you finish breast feeding and boob size settles, go to Bravissimo and get fitted for new bras? Makes the biggest difference possible to your shape without losing weight.

MsVenus · 15/06/2014 06:36

I have so far:
got my hair layered & just use Boots curl creme & coconut oil on it now.
eyebrows threaded
got rid of clothes in my wardrobe that no longer fit / like
had my feet measured at Clarks as having kids seems to have widened them
got measured for a new bra
increased water intake
Jillian Michaels 30 days shred to tone abs
Planning to have a stylist session at John Lewis.

Dh had a vasectomy so defo no more kids. I've accepted that I want to get fit and so-

1 hair- I use bumble and bumble stuff which has knocked my hair back into shape. Growing it out and getting it trimmed every 6 weeks. Straitening it 1/week max

2- skin. I need to get better at this, good morning routine- serum, moisturiser, flash balm, Bb cream and the. Mascara and lip gloss. Then oil cleansing method at night but not always managing it every night. Moisturise body everyday, wear suncream and drink mases everyday. Have tried to cut out processed crap. Still working on that!

  1. going to the gym 4 times a week and had a session with the pt, so follow that regime. Feeling loads better about body and have dropped a dress size. Have been doing 4 yoga sun salutations every day and I have grown/elongated by about a cm.
  1. Clothing- bought some summer things and tried to think "capsule" so everything matches in with everything else. Did a wardrobe purge and have given away about half my old clothes. Have a pile to try and eBay.
  1. Style- thinking about the complete look has helped me feel more put together from the shoes to the earrings. Pinterest has been great for this. I like to look on trend with a slight androgenous edge. I follow blogs a lot more now and take a lot of ideas from there.

Happy, thank you will definitely get measured for a new bra after breastfeeding, I have visions of having boobs like a sock with a pool ball in Confused

Msvenus, you are on a roll! Let us know how the stylist session goes!

Nilby, which bumble and bumble products do you use? I nearly bought their sea salt spray the other day. Well done on dropping a dress size! I'm usually a size 10 (squeeze) but tried some trousers on yesterday thinking wow these 10's are just right then realised when I took them off they was a 14!
Will be purging my wardrobe today, sister is chuffed lol

CareerGirl01 · 15/06/2014 16:05
