But all if them so far are either cheap looking or very unflattering, mostly too wide and too short, but if we go up a size to get the length they just drown her.
Already tried loads on in monsoon, bhs, m&s, john Lewis, debenhams, house of Fraser.
Next has some nice ones but they're all out of stock in her size.
I have been looking for weeks and the wedding is next Saturday now...

RhondaJean · 14/06/2014 13:55

Vertbaudet? Maybe a bit young - what sort of style are you after?

LoadsaBlusher · 14/06/2014 14:08

River Island do a girls wear range -they have age 9-10 size
I noticed a lovely yellow skater dress on there, they have other colours and designs too, cute and summery

LIZS · 14/06/2014 14:09

Yumi?

Pagwatch · 14/06/2014 14:28

My fav girls dresses but now too small for DD

DD has loads of their dresses. I find a size bigger than usual fits best. The festival dresses are lovely

twoandahalftimesthree · 14/06/2014 15:15

Thanks.
She already has a lovely white zara dress with gold spots on that I think she could wear but she wants something dressier. There are quite a few good options on river island- I will run them by her.
Pagwatch- really LOVE the festival dress, hope dd won't think it's too young for her (she's a very grown up looking 10 y) I think i will order that to try.
A friend has just suggested amazon so I'm, trying there too. Any more ideas welcome...

Hopefully this will come up with UK prices, not AUD like it does when I look at it! They're very "junior version of adult dresses" but she might like them?

Pagwatch · 14/06/2014 15:26

I think it looks less 'young' in the turquoise/green

Look at the flower girl dresses too. They are lovely. DD has the Charlie dress with the deep blue sash - she got it for new years eve in Sydney.
She wore blue ballet style pumps. It looked really nice and not babyish.

twoandahalftimesthree · 14/06/2014 15:41

Landsend and cos both have nice stuff but she wants a real dressy dress.
thumbwitch, I think they're made to order and I've only got a week!
Pagwatch, I love the turq but it would clash horribly with what I'm wearing so it'll def be the pink. The festival design I think would be better than some of the 'proper' occasion dresses as she will be able to wear it for other summer parties too.

Oh that's a shame, sorry :(

imip · 14/06/2014 16:04

Look at Alex and alexa mayoral brand. They have a sale at the mo. can't vouch for quality though...

May also be nice mini-a-ture stuff.

pippiLS · 14/06/2014 16:19

I know you said you tried Debenhams, but did you try their wedding section? They have lovely bridesmaid type dresses and others that are pretty but not quite as formal.

ClaimedByMe · 14/06/2014 16:23

My dd 11 wore this to a wedding a few weeks ago

RhondaJean · 14/06/2014 18:23

Mayoral stuff is lovely and very good quality I don't know if it goes up to a big enough size though. I've had lots for both DDs but when they were smaller.
