What type of glasses suit a round face?

Just had an eye test today and need glasses for occasional wear (driving etc). I tried on a few different pairs I liked, but they all looked weird on me Confused

I fancy some Raybans as I have the sunglasses and they are very sturdy and well made. All the ones I tried on didn't suit me though!

I have a round face. What style should I be trying?

Hi, I have a round face (it's like a moonface!) and I find that square/rounded square frames suit me well. I like chunkier frames and I don't like them to be too small - not Deidre Barlow level huge but big enough to be the focal point of my face iyswim. Also unrelated to face shape, make sure the colour of the frames suit you. Makes a big difference!

(and by square I mean rectangular, I don't think they make actual square glasses!)

Ah I didn't think about colour! I have a thing for tortoiseshell. I have mid brown hair and I'm fairly pale so no idea what colour would suit?

I reckon I'll just have to go and try a load on.

The general advice is normally to balance out your face shape so, if yours is round, then rectangle or anything angular sounds right as Myrtle has suggested. A cats eye shape might work too. Tortoiseshell goes with most things but go for whatever colours normally suit you best - it's the same idea. And don't worry if they all look weird when you try them on; it's a big change and takes a bit of getting used to. Don't rush into it, just try on loads and take photos to look at later. If you're on Pinterest they have quite lot of advice there.
