How long does it take you to realise that

the piece of clothing you keep for 'best' everyday wear .. you know that jumper or shirt you pop on cos you always look great it in .. is actually a tatty old rag that bags in all the wrong places

Years!!!
Normally after I have caught sight of myself wearing it in a few windows (note: it takes more than one scary reflection experience for me to learn this!)

I used to 'save' my favourite items of clothing and not wear them too often so that they didn't bag/fade/wear out. The trouble with doing that is that they then go out of fashion and you no longer want to wear them!

My other bad one is buying the same thing in more than one colour because I love it so much ... at the time. Go off one, you go off 'em all!

So now I just try to buy less and actually wear the things I buy! Chances are by the time they've worn out you've gone off them anyway.
