I know loads of you are going to come on and complain about AC, but I think she's stunning and nobody does the cat's eye better

See her do it here

Fraid so, I love Lisa Eldridge but Alexa Chung has largely passed me by. I thought she came over as incredibly annoying and shallow.

Whitershadeofpale · 13/06/2014 17:45

I love LE and although I'm not a massive AC fan I think the video is great and really shows why LE is in a different league to other youtubers. I loved the video she did with Sophie Dahl.

IrishBloodEnglishHeart · 13/06/2014 17:49

Alexa Chung is beautiful. Quite masculine in a way. Androgynous maybe. Lisa Eldridge also awesome.

IrishBloodEnglishHeart · 13/06/2014 17:57

I just bought the Eyeko Taupe eyeshadow. I want to look like Alexa :(

BreakingDad77 · 13/06/2014 17:59

I find it fascinating how so many women look to pro-ana/thinspo posterchilds such as Alexa Chung to measure their beauty.

Ihatemytoes · 13/06/2014 18:14

I'm fascinated you think "so many women" do Breaking. I don't know any. She is stunning though.

alltoomuchrightnow · 13/06/2014 18:18

AC does have that genetic , beautiful eye shape though. she has that without makeup. Beautiful yes but average women isn't going to achieve that without surgery and is too scarily thin

Mumraathenoisylion · 13/06/2014 18:24

Just watched this without the sound on for about 3 minutes and AC looks like she's bloody miserable and having a right bitch about something, I have no idea what she's saying.

Her skin is quite beautiful!

Mintyy · 13/06/2014 18:26

Its all quite inane, really, isn't it?

Kundry · 13/06/2014 18:37

She spends most of the video drivelling on about having a massive spot and how traumatic it was for her.

And making herself out to be incompetent at anything other than putting on eyeliner. Actually that may be true.

EyelinerQueen · 13/06/2014 18:44

I'm a bit Hmm at them acting like they're a couple of besties making a spontaneous video when it's clearly a planned advertisement for Alexa's range with Eyeko.

Alexa is very pretty but all the adulation is a bit excessive and tiresome. Is she even on the telly anymore or is she a full time skinny person who wears clothes?

alltoomuchrightnow · 13/06/2014 18:48

don't like Eyeko. claims to stay put and smudges like buggery.

alltoomuchrightnow · 13/06/2014 18:49

(i.e. when you don't want it to smudge) Spend ages doing perfect line/ flick and it's drifted before I've even headed out the door,..

Lizzylou · 13/06/2014 19:12

I don't aspire to Alexa's body at all, but do think she has a really watchable, beautiful face. So no pro-ana here Confused

HandMini · 13/06/2014 20:14

Her skin is AMAZING. Does everyone put foundation on with a brush rather than fingers (amateur make up-er here). I love the tutorial.

Toothytwo · 13/06/2014 21:20

I like the idea of LE videos but something about the lighting pretty much blurs out any detail, you can't see a pore or wrinkle or anything, it kind if takes away from seeing the make up applied.

Everyone has great skin on those YouTube vids - it's the lights. Great eyeliner though.

Did you see this alexa chung article? Unintentionally hilarious intothegloss.com/2014/05/alexa-chung/

alltoomuchrightnow · 14/06/2014 00:59

yes i remember Eyeko in Sephora I think, as quite pricey. then suddenly really cheapen Superdrug with those massive coloured lip balms etc, i had a few, they werent great. I had a bubble gum perfume too (this was quite a while back) -- i thought they were aimed at teens

alltoomuchrightnow · 14/06/2014 00:59

Cheap AT Superdrug I mean

RonaldMcDonald · 14/06/2014 01:01

I don't think Alexa Chung is that thin. She is thin but not worryingly so.

Kundry · 14/06/2014 07:29

I think the main reason everyone has great skin on the videos is that they are either a) models who have been picked for it or b) celebrities who have seen cosmetic dermatologists. If I was Alexa Chung and I got spots £200 to see a dermatologist would seem like money well spent.

However when Lisa does her own makeup although the lighting is flattering she does have more 'normal skin' and she does a few videos on normal people - the acne one is amazing as is the post-menopause one.

SinglePringle · 14/06/2014 07:41

Love LE and have dramatically increased my makeup purchasing due to her. This tutorial made me understand the fuss about AC; I'd never really got her beauty before but my god, she looks incredible in that clip. Her face is much better animated than in stills and her eyes and skin are really beautiful.

That said, I think she comes across as one of the most vacuous and annoying people on the planet.

armpit cancer?
