I have a £20 voucher and I'm not going to waste it. Trouble is I'm 46 and everything is so short!

Tops? Skinny jeans? Shoes? I'm sure I could spend it for you ..... :)

Shopgirl1 · 12/06/2014 14:38

I'm 37 and bought a Breton top, a belt, a small bag and some blusher there last weekend. Have bought jeans and sandals there in recent times, as well as boots I lived in last winter. They often have nice tops. Leggings can be good there too. I also got a great denim dress there a few months back. There is a lot of stuff only a teen or 20 year old can get away with, but you can find gems there for other ages too. I buy a lot less there than I did ten years ago, but still look there occasionally and find nice things.

Greenstone · 12/06/2014 14:41

The Breton suggestion is a great idea. Topshop also sometimes do some really nice leather shoes/ankle boots, so you could put your twenty quid towards that.

wfrances · 12/06/2014 14:43

im 38 and bought 3 tops from there this week.

Hopefully · 12/06/2014 14:52

I have bought knee length tube skirts, skinnies and leggings there in the past year Smile

IWillYeah · 12/06/2014 15:05

Basics are good. Rate their leggings and vests.

Swimwear?

Baxters are decent skinny jeans

MillionPramMiles · 12/06/2014 15:06

Yes but look online or in a (very) big store. The smaller stores tend towards the teens market.
They have a Tall range too I think if you tend to find their clothes short.

Lighthousekeeping · 12/06/2014 16:02

I'm a good 14 and the don't seem to have much in beyond a 12. I may get some espridelles. It's a lot more expensive than I remember it

As topshop are part of the Arcadia group you can also spend their vouchers in Dorothy Perkins etc. Some stores might be funny about it but it is in their policy. My friend worked at DPs and said quite a few people do it.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/06/2014 16:26

I just bought their BB cream and like it. Plus tan leather sandals and a white sundress. I am 39.

jasmine1979 · 12/06/2014 16:36

I've found that a lot of their nightwear is quite good quality and not too "young". Having said that I did just purchase these pyjamas. Maybe not the most mature. Smile www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/nightwear-2313149/mr-burns-pyjama-set-2617172?bi=1&ps=200

I also bought this casual shirt recently and was impressed with it.

I wear their skinny Leigh jeans and I'm 52.
Got about 6 pairs

I'm 54 not 52 Shock

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 17:14

Skinny jeans / a couple of the t-shirts are good / I like the socks with lace around the top too.

Floisme · 12/06/2014 19:12

Well I'm 57 and I often look in Top Shop. You have to be selective but in the last year I've bought a tube midi skirt, a couple of really nice necklaces and a cropped jumper. (Fear not, I wear it with a high waisted pencil skirt - no aged flesh to be seen!)

Lots of people recommend their skinny jeans. Their scarves, bags and shoes are (mostly) pretty ageless. They even do sweets.

Put it this way, I'd rather get a voucher for Top Shop than somewhere deemed age appropriate.

50ShadesOfSummer · 12/06/2014 19:44

Mid forties and this year I've bought Joni skinny jeans, a playsuit and those socks with the lace around the top that Remus mentioned. So, yes, plenty for the over 25s.

Lighthousekeeping · 12/06/2014 19:53

Size wise though?

OP posts:
beccajoh · 12/06/2014 19:55

I find them pretty true to size. Most stuff they sell is in the size 6-16 range.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 20:00

Which playsuit did you get, 50?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2014 20:01

Agree re true to size and tbh trousers and shorts sometimes come up big. I can sometimes get into a 10 there.

MaryWestmacott · 12/06/2014 20:03

If you can't see anything you want in there now, just pop your voucher in a drawer for a while, their knitwear in the winter is usually quite good.

HamAndPlaques · 12/06/2014 21:15

Makeup. Good little going-out bags and some of their earrings are excellent. They used to be fabulous for reasonably-priced leather ballet flats but lately everything is plastic and cheap.

Beaverfeaver2 · 12/06/2014 21:59

I only shop in winter there.
Save it for then

CointreauVersial · 12/06/2014 22:01

A Topshop voucher would have been whipped out of my purse within seconds by DD1.

But I did buy a really pretty necklace in there last week. Other recent purchases include ankle boots (the legendary Topshop Mightys) and a silver tube skirt. I'm 47.

I swerved the crop tops and teeny tiny shorts, though.
