How overdone - mega straightening and although glossy - is this what hair trend is now?

It seems so from what I see on the tube these days. I can barely brush my hair before my commute into work. I have embraced my curls, I wash my hair, rub boots curl cream & just blow dry my roots. It takes less than 10 minutes to style which is perfect for me.
