I don't normally wear anything other than very 'natural' looking colours, but am looking to try something brighter for holiday. Do,people match nails and toes?

Never. Red or deep Pink toes and neutral/light shades on fingers.

I nearly always have painted toenails. When I have painted fingernails, I always do the toenails to match.

CiderwithBuda · 10/06/2014 22:53

Generally matching. Only wouldn't if fingernails were neutral. It might be 80s matchy matchy but I am an 80s girl!

Never! it looks too Joan Collins to me...

I always have really bright toenails - red, orange, coral or bright pink,

Nails are either nude, clear polish or natural.

Not anymore the twenty something's at work tell me matching doesn't cut it anymore....

Currently have coral trotters and neutral fingers....

I tend to have the same colour or a slightly darker shade of the same colour on my toes but then I always put a glitter top coat on my toes, do they are matching, but slightly different if you see what I mean.

Casmama · 11/06/2014 07:39

I tend to have different colours on fingers and toes- both almost always painted but don't like to have clashing colours. Currently deep teal toes and deep purple fingers.

CiderwithBuda · 11/06/2014 08:55

So when did matchng stop being the done thing? I obviously missed the memo!

Standinginline · 11/06/2014 09:03

I heard somewhere that matching nail polish was a bit tacky ,don't know why. I usually have a dark purple on toe nails and a bright colour on finger nails. Think the general rule of thumb is toe nails darker than finger nails.

CiderwithBuda · 11/06/2014 09:46

I wonder who decided that. When I was younger it was the other way around. Non matching was seen as tacky. Funny how things change!

HamAndPlaques · 11/06/2014 11:26

It's a reaction to the trends of the eighties and nineties. It'll come full circle again in a few years' time and matching nails will once again be the height of chic!

CiderwithBuda · 11/06/2014 12:04

And by then I will have finally gotten over my twitchiness at non matching and then I will come across the fact that non matching is totally out! Maybe I will stick to matching and be at the forefront of the circle! Grin
