Jumpsuits for short people - possible and/or desirable?

Has anyone around 5ft bought a jumpsuit recently? I can't seem to find one that isn't strappy/strapless/vey low cut (but is sleeveless), isn't flowery, is in a forgving fabric (not clingy), pref has a belt (I need structure not elastic at the waist...) and isn't sold out in a size 8.

I've started to talk myself out of the whole thing and decide I'm too old anyway....which is just as well as I don't think what I'm looking for exists does it?

I am 5 foot tall and have three jumpsuits which I get loads of compliments on! I got one from Top shop at Xmas which is silk and gorgeous for the summer.
I am also 44 ! Size 10
I know this isn't helpful as I haven't found you one but just wanted to reassure that they work !

Im 5"1 and I have a lovely black jersey one from Dorothy Perkins ,it is like a t shirt neckline at the top
I wore this on hols with big statement necklace and jewelled sandals
They have lovely belted ones on Missguided.co.uk website

Thank you Ivedunnit.
I did try one on in Dorothy Perkins and it didnt look as bad as I was expecting. The pattern was too flowery for me though and the legs too wide. The Top Shop one sounds lovely though alas they dont seem to have any in petite at the mo. I suspect I might have come too late to this trend...

Thanks Loads. Some the Misguided ones look great though I couldn't find a petite section. How have you found the sizing of the Misguided jumpsuits? Are they still in proportion? I don't mind getting the length taken up but am worried the body will be too long.

I did see the DP jersey one online but they didn't have it in store to try on is the fabric clingy at all? I was more thinking along lines of silk or viscose but maybe jersey still drapes well?

I find Missguided and Boohoo.com lengths both fine in the leg
I have a black cross over front one from Boohoo
The jersey one from DP is lovely slash neck and drapes nicely ,you could add a belt if you like too . I got the normal length one not from Petite as even though I'm short I have quite long legs
I'm thinking of ordering it in another colour as it's so versatile,I have worn it to dinner here plus on holiday in temp 26.c and it didnt feel too heavy
HTH

This is the DP one on to show you the length on me ,Im wearing a little black DP kimono over the top though so u can't see the neckline

Thanks Loads - youve convinced me to try on the DP one :)

I like the BooHoo and MG ones but the models are 5ft 6 or over and wearing size 8 so not convinced they're going to fit me. Leg length and neckline would be ok to alter but waist could be tricky to re-position (and I don't think a low waist would be flattering on me).
Oh to me a normal height...

Loads - great pic, looks good. What belt would you recommend for it?

I have a little coral skinny belt that I got in Primark for £1!
Will wear that next time with coral flats

MillionPramMiles · 10/06/2014 13:40

Ooh that sounds nice, might try a silver skinny belt.
Thanks for the tips.
