Jeans and cords that are NOT hipsters, please!

Spent all of yesterday afternoon in a major shopping centre trying on tons of jeans and cords in a vain attempt to find some that actually fit a size 10 - sometimes 12 - 35-year-old woman who's had two kids.

No joy.

Everything on offer was hipster.

Sorry, but I just can't do hipsters. I think they look like shit on 90%+ of hte female population.

Anyone know ANY shop or brand that makes jeans or cords for women that are NOT hipsters before I hit the mens' departments?

I agree whitestuff has some nice trousers in atm - I tried on some brown cords yesterday that I really liked (and I do have a tummy fold ). also, Gap has some really nice stuff too. I am wearing levis 570s at the moment -- they are not hipsters and really flattering I think.

I will keep banging on here about MONSOON JEANS!!! They are the dogs doodhas

Cut that bit higher, with plenty of strech and they seem to 'lift' my bum by magic

I bought 2 paris as I loved them so much, one normal jeans and one cut like trousers but denim. Even when I bend down I don't get builders bum either

But they are not too high as to be around the waist either

Sheep, one black and one winter white, love them never out of them

you know only this morning on Lorraine Kelly they were saying that hipsters are out now and the waist is on the rise

the woman from Grazia was on saying that no-one will be able to find a pair of hipsters for love nor money, they are so old

so give it a couple of weeks and try again?

I'm heading to NEXT and M&S.

Seriously, in Scottish winter, the more covered up you are, the better.

expat and everyone else - let me know if you find anything good in the shops. I'm on the prowl for some decent jeans/cords too.

Blondilocks · 05/09/2006 21:38

M&S have some.

I know as I saw some jeans which looked nice but on closer inspection they were straight legged & high waisted I can't be doing with high waists.

Blondilocks · 05/09/2006 21:40

They better not stop selling them. I hate high waists ... goes off to throw a tantrum!

I got some fab jeans in the sale at Principles which are not hipsters and were reduced to £11. Double bonus. I do find hipsters comfortable but hate the sensation of flab hanging over them and think the 'line' is spoilt when you wear a long top. So my advice, try Principles! And no, I don't work there...

Tesco's fit well, and quite high. I also read they have a new range in, saw a mag article on jeans, and they were recomended as a best fit..
