Comfortable but not scruffy outfit ideas for flying to NY

Going to New York in August and would like a comfortable outfit that doesn't make me look my usual scruffy self. Has to be natural materials as I always end up with so much static there is a deep seated fear I am about to spontaneously combust. I'm a size 14 5ft 7" and have a decent tummy so too thin or clingy won't work on me. Can anyone help?

Have a look at Hush. Their harem trousers are good. I ordered some recently but sent them back because they were too short on me (I'm 5'7). The material was lovely, though, and v comfy.

You could add a tee/vest, a relaxed cardi and a scarf, like they have in their pic.

Whoops, just seen you're 5'7 too. Blush Worth trying though in case the length works for you (I have quite a short body and long legs).

They look lovely. I also have the added issue that my ankles are thin whereas the rest of me is not so I don't like to hide them as i really look like a tree trunk if I do. Harem trousers could be the answer. Can a Size 14 pull them off?

I reckon so! What shape are you? I think they're better on apples than pears.

Sorry, x-post. That outfit looks nice but depends how long the top is to avoid camel toe issues Grin

I'd second harem trousers and a drape jersey top, something like this or this or this

I love the Phase 8 drape top

You need to layer on a plane for all the different temperatures, it (may) be hot here when you leave, then cold on the plane, then even hotter when you land. So I don't think the long top over leggings is a good idea as its harder to layer long tops.
Definitely some sort of harem type jersey trousers, then a vest, drapey cardigan or smart sweatshirt, then a scarf.
I have the Hush harems, I'm 5'6" with a 32" leg, they are just about the right length but only just, but if you like showing off your ankles, they might be perfect for that. Get them through Quidco and wait for a discount code.

What's Hush sizing like? I've found a dress I like as well as the recommended harem trousers and a jacket damn you Mumsnet I mean thanks for finding it all for me Blush

I find Hush true to size. I've only bought a couple of jersey jackets (the biker style from last year) and the harems and I have to say the quality of the jackets was awful. They didn't wash well at all. So far after one wash the harems still seem as new, so we'll see. Hence I recommend going through Quidco (I think its currently 7% cashback for first orders) and wait for a code which they will no doubt have soon. There might even be discount for signing up to their newsletter.
