Perfumes that last well when you wear them

I'm looking for recommendations for some that last longer than a couple of hours. I bought one recently on holiday - Essence de Patchouli by Alyssa Ashley. Be warned - the smell is definitely not for everyone (although weirdly it doesn't smell of patchoui at all) and will be way too powdery and old-ladyish for many. But it lasts really well - I spray it in the morning and can still smell it on my wrist by the evening.

Any other suggestions?

Aqua di Parma

Several kinds all long lasting. I love them.

cathpip · 06/06/2014 14:14

Coco Chanel lasts all day for me.

Molotov · 06/06/2014 14:16

Samsara by Geurlain; Hypnose and Tresor by Lancome; Issey Miyake by Issey Miyake and The One by Dolce and Gabbana.

Aqua di Parma is luscious - have had a right good sniff in John Lewis many times. Quite but may be worth investing in. Can you recommend a fresh citrusy one for day time? Thanks Minnie

I often think my perfume doesn't last it people comment on it throughout the day so I just assume it's my nose getting used to it. I also find spraying I clothes much more effective than spraying on me direct.

I wear Boss Femme. Oh, and EDP has way more staying power than EDT.

Vol de Nuit by Guerlain. If you can get hold of it and like it!

Molotov · 06/06/2014 18:40

Forgot to add, Chloe the (I adore that perfume - can't believe I forgot to mention it!)

PiratePanda · 06/06/2014 20:21

I wear Vol de Nuit! It's not citrussy though - more powdery and chrysanthemumy

IlonaRN · 06/06/2014 20:21

Classique (Jean Paul Gaultier)

MsVenus · 06/06/2014 20:30

Serge Noir by Serge Lutyens

Amethyst24 · 06/06/2014 20:34

I love Robert Piguet perfumes - they last really well and are quite vintagy if you like that sort of thing. I presume you are buying EDP not EDT?

Obsession by Calvin Klein is long lasting

MyrtleDove · 06/06/2014 23:17

Big orientals are usually long-lasting - Shalimar, Cinnabar, Opium, Chanel Coco etc. Obsession by Calvin Klein is an oriental that's not quite as powerful as the vintage ones but still pretty good.

Not citrussy - generally citrus scents don't last as long because the scent compounds are water-soluble not oil-soluble. Oil-soluble ones last longer, eg vanilla/amber/spices.

Bindibach · 06/06/2014 23:20

Coco Chanel and Chanel No 5 are long lasting on me.

amazonianwoman · 07/06/2014 00:09

Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile.

samlamb · 07/06/2014 00:13

Pleasure by Estée Lauder
Chanel 5 last a while but it's a hate it or love it kind of smell
I used to like jo Malone but then had an evil boss who wore it all the time - have gone off it

latika · 07/06/2014 00:24

Alien for me, love the smell and it lasts all day!

babySophieRose · 07/06/2014 07:37

Stella, in the dark box, smells gorgeous and lasts forever... My clothes smells of it even after washing.

Lottapianos · 07/06/2014 08:10

Baby, is it Stella L.I.L.Y.? I've been meaning to get that because I sniffed it in a shop once and loved it, faint smell of violets

Aqua de Parma's Magnolia Nobile is a citrus and floral that is gorgeous and very long lasting.
As is Ellie Saab eau de parfum - honeyed orange blossom ( there also a parfum intense which is even more powerful.

thepurplepenguin · 07/06/2014 08:20

Fragonard grain du soleil

Again, not citrusy though

babySophieRose · 08/06/2014 18:45

Its not LILY, its the original Stella, smells of roses

Eliza22 · 08/06/2014 18:52

Lancôme la vie est belle.

ImogenQuy · 08/06/2014 18:58

Paloma Picasso. Another one that isn't citrussy though.
