NONO hair removal

I am getting really prickly on the chin and it is now really affecting my confidence. I would like to know of people who have invested in a NONO.
What model did you buy?
Is it really effective?

Hmmm, I was tempted to buy one when they first came out, but reviews are really bad.

However, when you actually read them, instead of looking at the stars they were given, it does say that it works well on fine, downy type hairs, but not on coarse, thick hair.

If you're describing the hair as prickly, then this would suggest to me that it's fairly course. I would recommend the new Phillips IPL, which you can now use on your face. I have the old one, which you can't use on your face, but I can tell you that the one definitely works on course, dark hair. Downside is definitely the cost. Think the new one's around £350, but could be wrong. Very annoying for me, cos I bought the old one for £500, which takes longer to use and as I said, can't be used on the face.

So, to sum up, I would say No! to the NONO (sorry ) if you would describe your facial hair as coarse.

I'd save your money & buy a home IPL device. I've just bought one on a Groupon offer and am testing it out.

Try looking on the US Amazon site and then run a mile It's an American product so there's more reviews, 99% of them are negative. Burns, issues with refunds etc. They are eye opening.

Thanks LadySybil, I did not think about checking the US site. I will do it but am now pretty convinced the No!No! is not the thing for me.

I just stumbled onto this old thread not finished reading it but it seems the home IPL device much more reliable.

just been on a website that assess how many sessions of laser hair removal I would need to get rid of chin/upper lip hair and the total amount (over about 2 years) would amount to over £1200

Plus, it's not hair removal as such. The laser works but it's definitely not permanent. You will need top ups too so factor in that cost.
Most reputable places have started calling it laser hair reduction.

Gini From what understand after doing their online test (about skin/hair colour) is that I would need 3 lots of 6 visits (1 lot every 9 months) to get rid of hair, would that still not be permanent after last lot? [gulp]

If you check out Groupon there are frequently good deals on IPL sessions.

I am currently having bikini line and underarm done. I have only paid about £100 for a course of six sessions in both areas
Chin will be about £40 for a course if you find a good offer.

Gorionine I had 6 sessions a few yeas ago and it made a huge difference. It's only in the past year or so that I've really noticed any coming back so would like a top up at some point, but I'd say 3 x 9 sounds a bit excessive.

I had my whole face done, I originally went in for top lip and chin, but it worked out the same price to also include hairline, eyebrows and sides of face. Those are all still perfect, it's the top lip and chin that have not gone completely, but still a massive improvement. I wouldn't rule out laser altogether, especially as you often get deals on Groupon etc.

Do NOT buy a NoNo.

I did and it was rubbish. Worked on blonde bum fluff hair but not the darker hairs.

It stopped working just after a year and they said there was nothing they could do. Couldn't fix it. Couldn't replace any part.

Complete waste of money.

I shall start checking Groupon it seems it 's going to be that or coming to terms with a hairy chinny chin chin.

gorionline it definitely isn't permanent. It will be gone but the hair will eventually come back. Probably not as strong but you'll need to keep on top of it.

I had laser done a few years back and I was told this. I was either pregnant or breastfeeding for the next 4 years and my chin is worse than ever because I didn't go back. I'd have to start from scratch now again.

Same as Gini, I had salon laser treatment a few years ago and it did work but has crept back over time.

I have two friends that have bought NONO and it hasn't worked for both of them, NONO is being falsely advertised on the television.

It makes sense, that if someone's using a product to burn off hair, that the product will leave ends that are broken and burnt (unless it's held into the skin, which will burn it). Hair follicles are inside pore like structures inside the epidermis and the only way to get to these is to pluck them out (like threading or using tweezers). The top layer of skin is highly sensitive so it's really not a good idea to apply heat this hot to it.

Did your friends manage to get a refund, Jayces? This was one of the top complaints on the Amazon US site.

If noon is just removing hair at skin level you may as well just use a razor in the shower each day. Quick, cheap and easy. as long as nobody sees you doing it!

It took about 2 years I suppose.
I had the initial sessions and within 6 months I could see very light hair coming back.
