Ginger with white hairs! what can I do?

Despite my mother's promise that red heads don't go grey, I have growing collection of white hairs at the front of my hairline and their cousins are multiplying throughout my hair.

What can I do? Dye is difficult because its virtually impossible to dye my natural colour.

What do gingers do about grey?

Leave them, it fades the colour to a beautiful sandy shadeSmile

Leave it IMO.

Your other option if you really can't stand leaving them it's to have a few high lights put in to break it up a but but needs to be done but a really skilled colourist.

Sandy hair is beautiful.

My hair is also ginger with a few white hairs at the front. I was leaving them but hated seeing them in the bathroom mirror. Anyway, as recommended here, i bought lush henna last week, the caca rouge, and my hair is a lovely red now. Not very different from my original colour. I am pleased.

I've recently started using clairol nice and easy semi permanent - I'm a redhead with increasing numbers of white hairs. I used a light auburn the first time and just used the warm auburn shade, which is perfect. Covers my greys/whites and looks very natural. They have a colour matching service online. Red shades are hard to find instore- I ordered online (click and collect at boots)

I used to be a redhead and was told I wouldn't go grey - I was lied to!

I've been having strawberry blonde highlights for years now, nobody can tell I'm getting quite grey. The red/ginger has also faded a lot, which helps to disguise the grey I guess.

Superdrug do a fab range of natural red/ginger shades. Im the same, lovely beginnings of a badger stripe at my temples! The one I use is Superdrug Salon Radiance in medium red blonde, 8.34 I think. Really natural shade.

I always interpreted "redheads don't go grey" as - yes we get white hairs, but these cause our overall colour to fade through sandy shades, rather than creating "grey hair" which is just a blend of white and brown. My DM was a reddish brown and always said the red bits went white first - I'm more of a brownish red and on high alert for white hairs!
