what can I wear to a posh christening?

I am godparent. I am late 30s, 5 ft 6 and size 10/12.

We have been to three christenings since March - godparent at one. I am however a size 16.

I wore THIS Navy maxi with grey and turquoise accessories last week (guest, garden party style reception)
THIS Navy cowl neck dress with nude courts, bag and very simple accessories (guest, reception in a nice hotel) and a Vivien Westwood Anglomania dress in red with black accessories when I was godmother. Reception was in One Devonshire Gardens so felt the need to dress up!

House of fraser have some great sale bargains instore... mostly small sizes left.
