Mineral make up and breakouts of spots

So I ask this question with a heavy heart I have very dry irritable skin with eczema and having become sensitive to my foundation post pregnancy I decided to splurge on some mineral foundation. After some research and patch testing I settled on jade iredale liquid foundation. And first few weeks are great but now suddenly I have spots around my nose that won't go away.(had for 2 weeks now) were getting better went through 2 weeks cosmetic cold turkey applied foundation today take off this evening and angry red and white spots!

Gah !!!is it the foundation?anybody got experience of this with minerals in general or jane iredale in particular ?

Also ring of flaky persuasion I have no idea what to sowing spots so top adult spot treatment also gratefully received

I have had a similar issue in the past. I was advised by a make up artist to wash my brushes and sponges more often!
She said that bacteria builds up on the brushes and sponges, leading to spots. Not sure if she is right, her advice did help me.

It probably has bismuth in. Some of the more common makes of mineral foundation, such as bare minerals, contain it and it can be an irritant.

A lot of Jane Iredale foundations contain diemethecone. That stuff is the devils jiz.
It gives me spots, big red welts and a rash.

Bismuth oxycloride may also be a factor.

Lily Lolo or BellaPierre mineral make up don't contain either of the above.

Lily Lolo is cheaper and has a massive range of shades (£13 for a pot which lasts months). And you can buy testers for £1.5.

I used to use Lily Lolo (for almost 10 years). But now I'm 40+ and my skin is very dry, it not as glowy.
So I switched to Bella Pierre mineral foundation. Amazing and glowy. Bit more expensive tho.

Another very pure and excellent one is Inika. Lovely soft powder and great coverage. My only problem is that they don't do a perfect shade for me. However if you can find a shade which works for you, this is an amazing foundation.

I have dry skin and didnt agree with mineral foundation. I use no7 moisture foundation range which is good for sensitive and dry skin. Also do you drink plenty of water?

Thanks for all the posts, I think I will explore the brush washing side first, then if not it's more testers for me! And closer attention to ingredient lists I think!

I do drink a fair amount of water, but I think it has to be back to basics and monitor that too food diary. I have had eczema since a baby but had it under control before my baby arrived so now GP keeps telling me it's hormones and sighing

Any ideas on getting rid of spots ??
