... more like the things on Net-a-Porter, you know? I'm 35 and I wear very little jewellery, but I'd like to learn about what's fashionable in the £100 - £500 price range, and I'm sure there's more out there than net-a-porter, or are they really doing it best?

I also like Catherine Zoraida and Loren Hope.

I like Stella & Dot. They change the collection every season. I'm not a big jewelry person but they have some lovely things.

If you live near London, go to Fenwicks jewellery hall. It has lots of gorgeous modern designers all under one roof. I like Monica Vinader and that sort of delicate silver jewellery. Can't remember any other brands but def mostly in your price bracket, so treat prices but not 'fine' jewellery.

Get yourself on the mailing list for Dazzle. Dazzle-exhibitions.com. I buy much of my jewellery from there, usually at their yearly exhibition in London. I'm especially fond of Jenny Lewellan's stuff

I also buy jewellery when on holiday. I like to buy, wherever possible, from the jewellers themselves. Not only because it tends to be cheaper but also it's a way of putting money into the local economy. Parts of Eastern Europe are especially good for this. I've had some fantastic pieces from Bulgaria and Slovenia.

I also buy stuff at craft markets or Independant studios. If you are in London, there are several in the Oxo tower area

I got a lovely pucci cocktail ring from Matches, but I suspect the brands are similar to NAP. I'm always looking for jewellery in this price range, but I like chunky/statement stuff and it seems to either be cheap crap or thousands.

I like to design my own and then approach a local silver or gold smith to make up my designs, I usually source the gems that I wish to have in them as it I find I have more choice. That way I get exactly what I am looking for.
