Do they exist ? i was thinking of just using a muslin clipped on safety pinned around the baby's neck so its snug but not tight it seems the normal bibs neckerchief things leak my friends DS vomited yesterday after his feed and it dribbled down his chin onto his neck and down into his t shirt shudder which meant a clean t shirt and a good rub down with a baby wipe which he wasn't impressed with Sad would the muslin trick work ? or is there a bib brand that makes bibs bigger that a scrappy bit of fabric ?

For milk feeds I think the tommee tippee ones with the padded neck are quite good

For food I always used a folded muslin tied round neck and then a rubber bib on top.

i looked at the tommee tippee ones i think they are the only thing in the tommee tippee range that i like but they are expensive to say you need about 20 bibs

I think you just have to keep changing them. If they were waterproof baby would get all sweaty underneath so would still end up wet and rashy.

i wouldnt use waterproof ones on a NB yes it would be sweaty i just want something that will cover nice a snug without having to change babygro or t shirts too

would using a white muslin folded into a triangle with a safety pin be ok then ? when i say safety pin i mean the ones with the white caps on them for terry nappies and stuff .......or i could use junior joy terry nappies instead of muslins !! BRAINWAVE right as i was typing

My DS is now 16 but he was the bokiest, spittiest, drooliest child on the planet! He never ever wore just one bib at a time but rather wore layers of them! Topped with a terry nappy wrapped round him fit good measure! My dad said he didn't see the clothes he wore til he was about 2! Did I care? No!!! If the top layer didn't catch it, then one of the others would! And I wasn't fussy about the bibs! Pink, blue, old and stained brown with banana, new, passed down-they all went on. And off again in rapid succession. I could have had entire clothes horses with just bibs on them! And now that little bokey face has the makings of a pretty impressive beard! My baby is nearly a man!!!

If you don't want to use waterproof bibs, I think you must find the most absorbent bibs or you can make of your own. There are a lot of tutorials now and by that you can have some guidelines there in choosing the most absorbent fabric.

It depends on the baby themselves, sometimes they are just so messy when they are eating. But there are also some bibs that offer a big help, especially those bibs that has a crumb catcher/pouch. They catch all those spills that can get into your furniture's.

like this one.
