I need some trousers that aren't jeans...

But I don't know what to look for because basically I live in jeans :-/

I've just had ds4 and got some weight to lose so don't want to spend much money.

I'm 5' 8 and size 14/16 normally (prob more 16 right now) with lovely post-baby overhang/muffin top.
I'd like something that will be fairly cool in hot weather but still look nice. I have some cotton wide leg trousers which feel nice but I think they just look like tracksuit trousers from a distance, they're not particularly flattering.

I'm not usually too bothered by how I look but at the moment my clothes are dire and I just want to look a bit nicer!

Can anyone give me some ideas on what kind of thing might suit me?

Chinos?

Gap have some and some, some stylish ladies on here have said h&m also do them.

My first thought was 'chinos' too.

Next do them reasonably priced.

i'll check out next and h&m thanks :)
think i'll have to try and arrange a child-free shopping trip so i can try some on. I normally buy online because I'm lazy and then end up wearing stuff that doesn't quite fit right because I don't wnat to have to return it

Hennes has some really nice ankle skimming trousers atm, though the larger sizes are hard to come by!

gap is fab too and i have just got some capri pants from there, were about 39 but they have lots of codes usually.

Agree Gap - have 2 pairs of their broken in straight khakis and really like them. Also want to try the skinny mini skimmer khakis but not sure how they come up sizing wise...
