How do you wear a clutch bag, if you're not Kate M

...and actually need to carry stuff around.

I've seen a few nice ones but

1. I can't dance with one as I think I'd lose it or forget about it
2. I'd need a Lidl shopper in addition to carry anything more than a lipstick

What's the secret?

I have one with a chain - start off looking ladylike then use chain when dancing (drunk)
It fits money, makeup, phone and cigs in it so that does me!

They don't all have chains, some have just a small thing that goes around your wrist. Even the ones with chain , aren't they hard and start bashing your thighs when you dance?
