Can someone find me a cocktail dress please?

I have an event to go to soon, it's not black tie but smart dress and I want to look good.

There seem to be so many full length dresses around at the moment, I want just above the knee.

I've tried John Lewis, Adrianna Papell, Coast etc. I've tried on loads - most I don't like, a few I quite like but not love IYSWIM. I'm now at the stage of getting fed up, everything looks rubbish on me.

I am 5'3", size 12 normally but had to size up generally to get the dresses over my boobs! I'm an inverted triangle - bigger shoulders/boobs and slim legs and hips. I've got dark hair and look best in a strong colour.

Help!

J Crew had a few nices ones including some in the sales. In fact they didn't have the ones I liked in my size so am searching for some on ebay.
