When to shop for October wedding outfit

Have a family wedding in October.

I can't see anything I like and everything is far too summery anyway.

I'm useless at fashion and never keep track. When will 'autumnal' things come into the shops?

What I really mean is things with sleeves.

Also, where should I go? I haven't bought anything special for so long I have no idea where to look.

Probably Hobbs kind of budget.

I had this problem for my daughters wedding and actually bought my outfit a full 12 months prior to the wedding. I found that the Autumn ranges didn't really start coming in until the end of September. Jacque Vert seem to have a very quick turnover of designs, not sure about any where else. I loved the Hobbs dresses but found them too long in the back for me so ended up with a bump in the zip. Do you have a particular colour or style in mind?

Well, I'm in my late-30s and would describe myself as 'classic' rather than finger on the pulse of fashion.

It's a difficult balance though.

It's my niece's wedding and I'm doing a reading. However, must not look in ANY way like I am competing with my sister (mother of the bride) who is quite a bit older than me.

I think my sister's outfit is from Jaques Vert and is grey. Bridesmaids are Aubergine.

I quite fancied something in a jewel/green colour but there is nothing.

I look dreadful in acid colours and pastels.

What about this one: www.johnlewis.com/almari-waistband-dress-teal/p793064. Tell me what you think of the colour/style?

I like this
something more classic?

I knew I'd come to the right place Grin

These are fab.

I love the Planet ruffled one and the LK Bennett print.

I'm currently a 16 but am planning to be a 14 by then - will probably never be a 12 though Wink

MrsLettuce, that deeper green vintage Phase Eight one is lovely Smile

The A/W ranges tend to hit the shops in August.

I think my sister will be in a shift & jacket so I think a print would be a good idea Wink

I hadn't looked at Phase 8 but this is nice - although not green Grin
