What do you wear in summer?

... if you are late forties, size 14 with no waist, apple shape, legs aren't great, but I don't mind showing them once they have a bit of colour.

I look awful in shorts, look awful in cropped trousers, prefer dresses, but can't find any I like and that flatter me. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes, don't like wearing pale colours as I don't tan as well as I used to.

I don't get into a large town often, so have been looking at websites, mainly M&S, Debenhams, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins, Simply Be, but haven't seen anything that inspires me. Have also looked on Ebay, as I am shopping on a tight budget.

Ooh, I'm like you! I wish I could advise, but have problems with dresses too cos of (in my case) a rather fat stomach. Really, I should be a 12, but my waist is a 14 ! I am quite tall though, so maxi skirts are ok, and in winter straight jumper dresses (as they used to be known)

Hopefully someone will come and give us some advice!

Maxi dresses?

I live in them in the summer. Quite cheap to buy too. I have lots of grey/black/neutral t shirt material dresses that do for just throwing on and mulling about. Usually a cardigan over the top if it's chilly. I like a layered, hippy look so this works for me.

Then you can splurge a bit on fancier ones for occasions.

Salazar where do you buy your tshirt dresses- and the maxi dresses?

I quite like a hippy look too, but am worried I'm too old to pull it off now.

I'm also a 12/14 due to tummy.I wear stripy maxi skirts by Max/Max and co from Tk Maxx.They do ones with a foldover waistband that are easy to adjust for height and are every flattering.Wear with vest tops and boxy shaped or slightly relaxed tT's.

Anyone know where I can get a plain grey or black jersey dress? I thought New Look might have some but can't see any on their site that I like.
