How to get lovely, shiny hair?

Amethyst24 · 23/05/2014 16:11

I'm so sick of my hair. I have it coloured to hide the grey and it's just a coarse, dull mess. It has always been quite nice - fine but lots of it, naturally straight and just nice. Not any more. What can I do?

Following. Mine is a disaster just now. Like you
Died out the grey and it's shiny for a week after dying then dead looking Blush

I use vosene regularly and find it gives my hair a lovely shine. Takes all the crap out my hair more than posh shampoo does. Also I don't use conditioner too much as I find it makes my hair limp

Argon oil try the pound land one or next time you go to the hairdressers ask for a treatment macadamia nut oil is fab but is expensive

SweetPea3 · 23/05/2014 16:49

Yes, argon oil is great. It is the 'active' ingredient in Moroccan Oil, but don't waste your money on Moroccan Oil as it is way overpriced (marketing hype). Check Amazon.

shine spray works brill for me, i have the tiggy bedhead one and makes my hair very shiny and looks great

Sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. I use L'oreal ever strong from Superdrug.

Leave towel on head for as long as possible to soak up water.

Then use a de tanger to brush through.

Few drops of serum rubbed over hands and then throughout hair.

Comb.

Blast dry, nozzle facing down.

If you're going to straighten, first cover hair with a shine spray.

Then if you need any more, a bit more serum and/or shine spray.

I find the straighteners make my fair shines, as does the Babyliss Big Hair!

I found argon hair oil by chance in £1 section of Tesco, it's really very good.

Cold water rinse till your scalp goes numb. Grin
It works.

Chottie · 23/05/2014 20:50

I use a scalp treatment and deep conditioning treatment once a week
I use Liz Earle hair oil after washing and conditioning and before combing my hair
^ to Babybliss Big Hair dryer too

I don't over dry my hair too.
