I'm going on holiday in 4 weeks time. I have put on weight. None of my clothes fit. It's a girls holiday and we're going to beach clubs and even clubbing a couple of time. I've nothing to wear.
I need a whole new summer wardrobe. The problem age 36, size 16, slimmish waist, good boobs, fat tummy, heavy hips , ok bottom, biggish thighs, Narrow shoulders. Any bored mumsnetters who can help me!

Linen trousers and a loose fitting top, maxi dresses? I'm watching this with interest. Have a lovely holiday

Tiggy -
I like the idea of maxi dresses. I'll need to find some linen trousers that cater for my fat tummy, and big thighs. Empire line tops would work. I need to go a bit glam and funky.

There's some good stuff in Monsoon at the moment - I also have a bit of a tummy and biggish thighs, and they have good linen or printed trousers and linen shorts which fit really well - I got these ones which are very comfy but also look quite smart:

Plenty of maxi dresses too.

Have a look at shop style, search for the kind of things you like, can be a good tool.

I like wrap tops or cross over tops to cover my stomach, I get my linen trousers from m&s (I know) I find them to be the most flattering. I'm a size 14 and they're quite comfortable.

Also gap have a really nice pair of trousers that fold over at the top loose fitting through the leg with ties at the bottom £24.99 I love mine I can wear with flats, wedges or skyscraper heels and they are very flattering, cool and comfy and with the ankle ties you can tighten or loosen for different looks.

Any use?

Thanks they look good - the ones from Gap are quite cool and the Monsoon ones with a jersey waistband that would stay hidden look v comfortable. Need nice tunic tops to go with them

For Ibiza maxi dresses/skirts are the way to go. Most people go clubbing in bikini tops and denim hot pants so you don't need anything too fancy. If you haven't got a massive budget, Primark have some great tshirts and vests in that I remember thinking would be perfect for Ibiza!

niceupthedance · 22/05/2014 19:07

Agree, maxi skirt with a vest and lots of accessories would be perfect for a night out in Ibiza.

Last year the style was swimming costumes with batty riders over the top and clumpy shoes - anything goes really.

Maxi skirts with long vests are flattering and lovely for evening out but not really clubbing wear - I'd find a cool, non-clingy, not too short cotton shift if you're planning on jumping around a bit.

You could have described me with your body shape. I have bought about 6 different versions of this in different colours and patterns (black, navy, purple). Size down though - I bought a 12 when I'm normally a 14 for fitted stuff.

I love them - you can dress them up at night with chunky jewellery and wedges, or wear during the day with flats/flip flops.
I was wearing mine during the recent hot spell, and they look like normal dresses, not beach cover ups.

They are super flattering, cool to wear in the sun and really versatile.

Have fun!

Goldie, I like that, it's the kind f stuff that flatters the likes of you and me. I went to a boutique today and bought a few different dresses including a couple of maxis.

Twiggy have you got a link for those Gap trousers they sound great but I can't find them online ?

TessTackle · 23/05/2014 09:06

Have you looked at asos curve? They've got some lovely Ibiza themed bits that aren't too "young" and a huge range. Hth
