To those who cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise

How do you deal with holidays abroad and luggage restrictions. Mine seems to weight a huge amount!

That combined with the general stuff we take is is ridiculous. How can I make it easier? Please don't say buy when you get there because we are quite remote and I don't want to have to touch down and find toothpaste.

Does the airport you're flying out from have a Boots or similar past check-in? If so you could get bits there if you needed to.

Smaller versions, or decante into smaller bottles. My travel wash bag is full of miniatures so it's always ready to go.

Boots sell empty bottles/mini tubs that I decant into. Serums are usually small enough in volume.

Maybe look at a micellar water for the cleanse/tone part?

I have this problem too, and a week without products my face looks bad. I prioritise the expensive stuff and things which I'll use a lot of, so full size cleanser, moisturiser etc anything else I buy at the airport (good excuse to hit up the beauty counters). I've started keeping the minis you get as 'gifts' when you buy the more expensive stuff for these occasions or when a bottle is getting low starting a new one and keeping the week's worth to take away so I can discard it when finished.

Are you only taking hand luggage?

PeppermintInfusion · 22/05/2014 10:25

Sorry hit send too soon. If you are checking luggage. Take everything you can under 100ml that fits in those liquid bags and only check in the bigger stuff in your case. I also use a bag for each person travelling, so if I'm with my DH he takes some of my makeup etc in a plastic bag as well to get through security.

Leave out the toner and serum for the holiday, stick with just cleanser and moisturiser until you get back home.

Just give up the whole lot and oil cleanse. I had a revalation a few years ago that men who don't do any skincare rarely have skin that looks older than a woman of the same/similar age, assuming similar environmental factors - smoking/sun exposure etc. I gave up the lot - I just rub in some oil and then wipe off with a hot cloth - my pockets are now heavier with £££ :)

I decant into travel bottles.
