I'm so fed up of having lots of clothes that don't fit! I am a large 12 and have lots of clothes size 10 and some size 8 that don't fit.

I have been hoping and trying to loose weight for years but havnt been successful! Should I just I chuck all my clothes out? Atleast then what I have will look ok on Confused

Yes chuck em!
I did this after I had my DD - kept all my small size clothes hoping to get back into them - it has never happened! All they did was taunt me from the wardrobe.
Clear them out - sell them and make some £ to buy lovely new things that do fit Grin

I know I should but it makes me feel like I am giving up on being a size 8-10 again and I don't want to be a 12 Shock

but then if.you are a 10 again you can go and treat yourself to lovely new things. I just cleared out all of my 8-10 stuff, apart from a couple of bits that I love, and that's what I'm telling myself!

I'm now 33 and put on a lot of weight around 27/28. I tried to diet down but I just couldn't do it so got rid of them all (to a women's refuge) then went shopping. It was a real release and helped me to accept who I am now and not constantly looking backwards to a me that was no longer attainable. 12 is a fine size, hit the shops!

Stuff that you've kept for years will most likely be out of style anyway.
Get rid & buy new if when you lose the weight. Smile

bouquetofpencils · 18/05/2014 21:53

eBay them then treat yourself with proceeds!

RonaldMcDonald · 19/05/2014 01:18

How long have you been bigger?

Longer than a couple of yrs then jettison all but the truly amazing stuff

revolutionarytoad · 19/05/2014 08:37

Make one last big effort to lose weight. If after 6 months you don't fit into them then get rid. Then buy some really lovely size 12 clothes.

Nocomet · 19/05/2014 08:53

I'd love to be a 12. I haven't been that size since before DD1(16) was born.

Threw out the clothes that don't fit and the diet books. Treat yourself to some clothes that make you look great and embrace the person you are now.

Eat healthily and exercise by all means, but to feel healthy and toned as you are today. Not to try and recapture someone your not.

RM2014 · 19/05/2014 09:35

When I did this, about 2 years ago having decided to give up torturing my then size14 self 'let go of the past and embrace who I am today' the effect of this amongst other things created a chain of events (more positive outlook, high energy, increased activity) that resulted in me falling over two dress sizes in less than 6 months! Believe me, apart from a couple of loved sentimental pieces I'd kept, I wanted all new anyway, the weightloss gave such confidence and pure enjoyment to shop without the looming dread of being too frumpy for the nice dresses - shopping for new was a celebration of the achievement!

I now have it all to do again following the birth of my daughter 6wks ago! But I'm confident it's possible with the right perspective on it:-) I know my only limit is me.

Be all you want to be in this life :-) it's yours! And always give yourself chance to exceed your own expectations. Good luck whatever you want to achieve :-)

Look, if you have them from a while ago, they're out of style now anyway.

Sell them, and put the money aside for buying size 8-10 again. This way you'll have some fab stylish clothes when you're ready for them, not some old style stuff, hanging round, taunting you from your wardrobe!
