Know this has been done to death, but - perfect breton?

I had DS2 7 weeks ago so I've got a right old mum tum and I'm bfing so my boobs are several feet inches lower than I'd like them to be (bloody floppy nursing bras).

So the fabric can't be clingy or see-through - I want it to skim flatteringly - and the neck can't be too high or I'll get that delightful shelf/sausage boob effect.

Quite like this Joules one.

Boden have one but the reviews say the fit is dodgy - anyone got it?

Plus any other suggestions gratefully received.

Le bump?

I've got the Boden ones. I'm a size 10 and sized down to an 8 as I like the fitted look. A lot of the reviews on the Boden website complained about the arms being too tight, but I found once you made sure the sleeves weren't twisted and were nice and straight the tight feeling disappeared, and I by no means have gym-bunny biceps.

SuperFlyHigh · 17/05/2014 22:01

The Joules one looks vair naice.

CountBapula · 17/05/2014 22:34

HowYa how does the Boden one fit round the midriff? Is it clingy or does it have more of that swingy/boxy shape that disguises le mum tum?

CountBapula · 17/05/2014 22:35

SuperFly, yes, I am tempted but they're sold out in my size :(

Hobbs do a good one, navy. It's nice quality and a flattering cut.

Greenstone · 17/05/2014 22:41

Are you doing the stretchy top underneath thing then?

Try petit bateau or even h&m.

CountBapula · 17/05/2014 22:41

Oooh that's pretty, Sorrel - thanks.

I've got the Boden short sleeved Breton and I'd say it's true to size but go up a size of you want a loose fit.
Joules have 25% off ending today if that helps (online and in store)? Grin

Seen the Charles Tyrwhitt ones? Quite bizarre that they do them, but they look good.

bettykt · 18/05/2014 08:06

Those Charles Trywhitt one look great, the mink one is lovely. I've got some Boden ones on order so can't comment on fit yet. Bought one from women's Boden and the other from Johnnie B.

Romcom · 18/05/2014 08:37

I got this johnnie b one The sizing is big, I'd say the 16+ size is a loose size 12. It's really good quality and flattering, only works if you're size 12ish or under though obvs.

bettykt · 18/05/2014 09:12

That's the one I bought Romcom waiting for it to arrive.

MrsMarigold · 18/05/2014 09:18

Petit Bateau and try People Tree

ihearttc · 18/05/2014 09:51

Ive got the Boden one as well in long sleeved and short sleeved (Im a little obsessed!).

I actually sized up to a 12 because I wanted a slightly loose fit around my tummy area.

I really like them. They are such good quality and fit really well. Mine have been washed loads of times and still look new. Ive got the navy and white and also white and navy long sleeved.

And then in short sleeve I had the navy/white, white/navy and also white and orange.

bubblesaregreat · 18/05/2014 10:12

I have both the Joules and the Boden ones. The Joules one is nice, but it's quite thick, so not really good for wearing all summer. Nice for spring and autumn. The Boden one is thinner so probably better for summer.

SplatPancake · 18/05/2014 10:20

I have a Tyrwhiit and it is lovely quality but shrank in wash (this May have been DH helping rather than any fault of Tyrwhitt).

mind you I also have £££ St James from your actual Brittany and they both shrank Confused

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 18/05/2014 10:30

I have a Breton from BR that is lovely quality, and I shrank it, too. Not catastrophically, but still shrunken. There is a theme, I sense.

Jbck · 18/05/2014 10:35

I got a lovely one in Zara, organic cotton for £12.99, had it in cream with navy narrow stripe or vice versa, I bought both.
Im busty and don't usually shop in Zara but this was nice not too clingy and a good length.
Now for the bad news, I can't see it on the website but it wasn't sale stock and just two weeks ago so maybe too new.

NormHonal · 18/05/2014 10:39

The Joules one is thick, it's a bit of a baggier fit than I anticipated TBH.

Boden do different weight ones for different times of year.

CountBapula · 18/05/2014 10:46

The Tyrwhitt ones look fab - good price too. I've ordered the Joules one off Amazon but if it's no good will try Tyrwhitt.

Quite like the idea of it being reasonably thick because it'll be less likely to cling to the baby belly...

Southpaws · 18/05/2014 10:47

I bought 3 joules ones the other week as I am 20 weeks pregnant and they skim the bump nicely. I'm hoping they will come in nicely after the baby arrives too as they don't cling and are very forgiving. Lovely material too. There is 25% off Joules until midnight tonight!

No suggestions, but if you're planning to BF for a while, it's really worth getting some feeding bras which are not floppy and actually define your boobs. More supportive, more flattering, and help your clothes fit better, I always recommend the 'Anita' under wired bra, but know there are plenty more.
