Day trip to London tomorrow, lots of walking, what to wear?

As the title says, and it's a date with someone I'm meeting for the first time.

I know it's going to be warm and we're going to walk a lot.

Do I wear black jeans, green/greyu/Purple swoosh Nikes (not running shoes, more "fashion" trainers) and this pullover www.whitestuff.com/womens/knitwear/thistle-summer-plain-knit/?sessionid=135356dc2ce104a95919b7cf803aa6dcac216cc6
with t-shirt underneath in case I get too hot?

Or this dress www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Day-Dresses/WH608/Womens-Easy-T-shirt-Dress?NavGroupID=4-

but then what shoes? I have some blue/green cute Hush Puppies sandals, very comfortable, but enough for walking? Or should I buy some white Supergas? I used to love wearing those with a dress 15 years ago but maybe too old now? (50)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Wear the lovely dress with sandals you will be hot in jeans. Southbank is good for a date lots of nice pubs, places to eat and romantic by the river.

agree wear the dress, it's lovely. Sorry but for me it would be no to supergas with the dress on a date, (and I wear trainers a lot). so yes to sandals. Hope you have a lovely time

Jeans and a jumper? I'd melt! Dress and sandals it's always boiling in London.

Its warm and sticky atm, with a slight breeze that makes it look like its threatening cold!

I'd wear a dress with cardi and comfy shoes (and fancy knickers).

Hope you have a super lovely time!

Thanks, everyone. You've convinced me. Dress, cardi and sandals.

Why should the knickers matter? Blush

Hahahahahaha! Good one OP!
It matters.
I say dress too!

PecanSandy · 17/05/2014 18:31

For better or for worse, there'll be none of that, Kia! I have to catch the last train home, speaking of which, I think this guy is more interested in trains than underwear IYSWIM. But giving it a shot anyway as he seems very nice.
