And which colours to avoid?

I remember a friend with a pink and vanilla fine-striped swimsuit years ago - from a distance it looked like she was stark naked Confused

I think it would depend more on your skin tone i.e warm or cool than how pale or tanned you were.

Most flattering: navy

Least flattering: black, white, yellow.

Skin tone is cool, with a hint of varicose veins and sunburn.

Perhaps not deep blues then!

How about deep greens or dark purple? Perhaps with a (non-vein like) pattern?

I am blue-white with the odd pink blotch and freckle.
Here are the colours that suit me:
Red
Emerald green
Cerise pink
Dark purple
Here are the colours that make me look half-dead:
Black
Navy
Grey
Anything pastel

I read an article in the Times by the owner? of figleaves. She made two suggestions that always stuck with me, to size up in swimming cozzies and for the fair skinned (me) olive or khaki shades are most flattering.

40SomethingFabulouslyClueless · 17/05/2014 11:48

Yes I'm thinking anything too dark or too pink/orange or flesh coloured are a no-no.

Olive sounds good. Why a size up for cozzies? I find they go saggy in the water Confused

I second tak1ngchances. Black an white look awful on me, while red looks good.

dramajustfollowsme · 17/05/2014 13:52

I am blue/white too. Turquoise gives me a bit of colour.

I was just coming on to say khaki green/olive would probably be good with your skin tone, and I see that I am in good companySmile
