Ways to keep skin beautiful as we age?

I am 36 years old and have always looked ok for my age but recently I have seen some changes to my skin in the texture and some fine lines creeping in.

I am fine with getting older but I want to make an effort to keep my skin as nice as possible.

Things I am looking at are

Fraxel Laser Treatments
LED Light Treatments
Facial Peels
Prescription Retin A
Vitamin C Serum
Facial Exercise
Facial Massage
Alkaline Diet
Better Sleep
More Water
Exercise
Yoga
Supplements - which ones?

I am sure there are other things, obviously not going to do them all not at once anyway but as an ongoing prevention how does it look. I am not ruling out fillers or botox but I don't feel I need them at the moment.

What do you think? Do you have a beauty skincare tip you are willing to share?

Dermaroller is fantastic..

I'm late 30s and started looking shit.

I think its got to be something you can do at home as monthly facials just aren't enough ime.

I'm now using a Boots microdermabrasion scrub once or twice a week, their protect and perfect face wash. I'm using an Elemis papaya enzyme facial once a week and have also got some glycoic acid which I've started using but not very often.

I do think things are improving.

Sleep
Minimal sun exposure
Sleep
Minimal stress
Sleep
Water and white or green tea
Sleep
Plenty of EFA's in your diet
Can you guess what else?

Actually, I should have added - exercise that makes you sweat lots Smile.

VivaLeBeaver · 15/05/2014 14:50

What's an EFA?

makemeabutterfly · 15/05/2014 14:51

There was some study in the telegraph recently that said exercise can reverse skin aging to an extent. Definate motivation for the gym.

Essential Fatty Acid - so eat avocados, eggs, oily fish, raw nuts, cold pressed oils, seeds... And take a supplement, fish oil/starflower/evening primrose oil....

And give up sugar (and processed carbs) it's terrible for everything, skin included.

A hat.

Seriously, stay out of the sun.

justchecking3 · 15/05/2014 22:03

Sunscreen is a biggie, if you don't use that everything else is a waste of time

Floisme · 16/05/2014 07:09

Don't smoke.
Don't sunbathe.
Moisturise - just find one that suits your skin; they're all pretty much the same.
Use sunscreen.
Look after yourself - once you're out of your twenties, it show's in your face if you don't.
Don't wear black - it adds years, even if it suits you.
Don't worry about wrinkles - when your face starts to sag and slide, you'll be grateful for them Grin

shows.
